While most wrestling fans thought that there would be more PPVs in his future, things have come to an end for Vince McMahon's career following his retirement, and the legacy he has left behind is now set. When it comes to his featured events, there have been some incredible wrestling shows and others that have been far more forgettable.

That is something that stayed true right until the end, with the final 10 shows that the former WWE Chairman put on being a varied collection in terms of quality. There was time for two final WrestleMania events and a whole host of other shows that showcased some fantastic matches alongside some poor booking.

10 Royal Rumble, 2022

Seth Rollins at Royal Rumble 2022

The Royal Rumble PPV always relies upon the quality of the two Rumble encounters themselves as they take up so much of the show, but in 2022 they ended up falling short of the mark, particularly when it comes to the men's match. The lack of surprises and effort that was put into that match left a flat feeling overall.

Outside of that, WWE tried to add big matches, and while Bobby Lashley facing Brock Lesnar was a dream bout it didn't quite reach the necessary level. Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns did have a great encounter, but that ended in a disqualification, and overall the show just frustrated fans.

9 Survivor Series, 2021

Roman Reigns vs Big E

Survivor Series is an event that has generally gone backward in quality over the years, mainly because there tends to be no stakes at all for fans to invest in outside of Raw vs. SmackDown, which people don't tend to care about. That was particularly true in 2021, with very little effort being placed into the build-up.

However, the overall in-ring quality was high, particularly in the main event that saw Roman Reigns and Big E put on a clinic, the entire show lacked energy as the fans didn't care about the outcomes of any encounter, which is always disappointing.

8 Day 1

Brock Lesnar F-5ing Kevin Owens

To kickstart 2022, WWE ran the first ever Day 1 event, and there's no denying that Vince McMahon put a lot of effort into pushing the show and adding big stars to it. There was a great set of matches that had something for everyone, with RK-Bro and The Street Profits being a particularly entertaining encounter.

Liv Morgan got the chance to impress, and the main event featured five of WWE's biggest stars going back and forth for the WWE Championship. The only aspect that truly hurt this one was how short the main event was, as people wanted a little bit more from that encounter.

7 Hell In A Cell, 2022

Seth Rollins vs Cody Rhodes

The 2022 Hell In A Cell was built primarily around Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins, and despite the legitimate injury to The American Nightmare, they provided one of the most iconic main events in modern history. There were some moments in the show that fell a little flat, but all the big matches ended up being great.

The opening triple threat for the Raw Women's Championship was terrific, and the good part about this show was that all of the undercard matches had tons of build, which is something that helps any event get over, even if some of the storylines weren't for major titles.

6 Elimination Chamber, 2022

Lita v Becky Lynch Elimination Chamber 2022 Cropped

WWE took the Elimination Chamber to Saudi Arabia in 2022 and as is always the case when the company goes to the country, they brought all the big guns. The main event was a little disappointing as Brock Lesnar just dominated everyone in sight, but all the other matches were a lot of fun.

Roman Reigns and Goldberg had a hard-hitting encounter, while the women's Elimination Chamber was a fun one as well. But the big highlight was seeing Lita return, and her match against Becky Lynch was tons of nostalgic fun.

5 WrestleMania Backlash, 2022

Charlotte Flair v Ronda Rousey WrestleMania Backlash 2022 Cropped

WrestleMania Backlash very much brought 'B' show vibes, simply because it was a lot of repeat matches from WrestleMania 38, but a lot of them delivered just as well. Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins had another great encounter, while Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey stepped things up with their I Quit match.

The main event was a great six-man tag team match even if it did lack a lot of the stakes that fans were hoping for, and the atmosphere here helped to make this one a great night of professional wrestling.

4 Money In The Bank, 2022

Liv Morgan cashes in

Money In The Bank events have always been popular with fans, mainly because the concept is such a big hit as it instantly brings two fun ladder matches. Both the ladder bouts delivered in this one, with young winners being focused on which is what this concept should always be about.

Seeing Liv Morgan cash in her briefcase added a memorable moment to this that fans would never forget, making the show feel important. Plus, The Usos and The Street Profits put on one of the best tag team matches in WWE history, which helped Vince McMahon's final ever PPV be a great one.

3 Crown Jewel, 2021

Edge vs Seth Rollins in Hell in a Cell Cropped

WWE's deal with Saudi Arabia has led to some truly terrible PPV events over the years, but this wasn't one of them. The event saw some fantastic matches take place, with the Hell In A Cell encounter between Edge and Seth Rollins stealing the show with one of the best matches for that stipulation in a long time.

The triple threat for the Raw Women's Championship match was well put together, while Drew McIntyre and Big E had a hard-hitting encounter. Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns closed the show in style, while even the undercard felt important and relevant, helping to create a great show overall.

2 WrestleMania 38 (Night Two)

Johnny Knoxville uses a stop sign

The second night of WrestleMania 38 is the final one that Vince McMahon will ever be in charge of, and he certainly ensured it went out with a bang. From top to bottom, this show featured a stacked card with a true variety of matches, from a blisteringly fast opening tag team match to Vince himself competing.

The main event was disappointing, as Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar fell short of the mark, but other encounters picked up the slack. Particularly the hilariously entertaining match between Sami Zayn and Johnny Knoxville, which might go down as the best celebrity bout of all time.

1 WrestleMania 38 (Night One)

Steve Austin hitting Kevin Owens with a Stunner at WrestleMania 38.

While fans will have their personal feelings towards each show, night one did just edge things in terms of match quality, and it also provided a stronger main event that also delivered on nostalgic fun. This show had something for every fan, from amazing technical bouts to huge surprises.

Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins put on a great bout, Logan Paul was impressive, and Bianca Belair and Becky Lynch had arguably the match of the weekend. This was also the first night of WrestleMania 38 with a sold-out crowd, and that made things feel big and brought the energy, which was a lot of fun.
