This week's Raw featured the Final of the Women's Tag Team Tournament and the return of Kurt Angle to WWE. The show didn't get off to the greatest of starts, but got rolling as Angle made his appearance and found its groove when The Usos and Kevin Owens stepped into the ring. Fans will be disappointed with no Sasha Banks or Naomi, but the main event was still a bit surprising.

Here are your winner and losers for Monday Night Raw, August 29, 2022:

Loser: Judgment Day Over Styles And Ziggler

The first match of the evening was an interesting choice considering it wasn't set up from the week prior (a staple under Triple H) and there wasn't a known alliance between AJ Styles and Dolph Ziggler. To have them against Damian Priest and Finn Balor felt like it might be a rebound match to help Judgment Day after a rough week, specifically Priest after a high-profile loss. The heels did pick up the win, but Priest's chemistry was off and the other members of the match didn't look a lot better.

After Judgment Day picked up the win, they waited in the ring for Edge to arrive. They wanted to end it when he didn't have his friends around to save him. Edge said he wasn't alone, while Rey and Dominik Mysterio attacked from behind. Eventually, Rhea Ripley and Dom wound up in the ring together and she convinced him to give up the kendo stick. Edge and Rey climbed back into the ring before she could attack him.

This entire match and follow-up segment didn't quite hit home as it was likely written up. There was, what felt like, some dead air and awkward moments before the takeaways were delivered. The slow-motion feel of the first half hour was among the slower openings in a few weeks.

Loser: Belair, Bliss and Asuka Win Squash Match

Another interesting choice, WWE decided to book a squash match for a team that has a ton of momentum going into Clash at the Castle. The trio didn't need the rub, especially not one that comes at the expense of some local I no-name talents. It wasn't a bad match, but it wasn't clear why it was necessary. The trio of Dakota Kai, Iyo Sky and Bayley were nowhere to be found since they have bigger fish to fry with the tag team finals.

Asuka, Belair, and Bliss cut a basic promo in an attempt to sell their pay-per-view match. It was fairly elementary and uneventful, especially without their opponents.

Winner: Street Profits Help Out Kurt Angle

In the first segment of the night that felt like it was really well done, Kurt Angle came out to the ring in front of his hometown fans and looked like a million bucks. Before he could say much, Alpha Academy interrupted and offered him a one-night membership into the academy. He declined and he and Chad Gable got into a shooshing battle. Otis was directed to deal with the problem and that brought out The Street Profits who were looking for a fight and found defending Angle a good enough reason. Gable accepted, as long as Angle became their slave if Montez and Angelo lost.

The match itself was a lot of fun with Ford and Dawkins getting the win. Both tried to celebrate with their solo cups but it wasn't to Angle's liking. He pulled out some milk bottles and they all chugged them down.

Angle didn't do much here, but it was still a lot of fun.

Winner: Interview Segment Riddle and Seth Rollins

The backstage interview conducted by Corey Graves between Matt Riddle (yes, he got his full name back) and Rollins was good. The stuff they aired after the commercials that apparently took place after the cameras stopped rolling was fantastic. It's a bit out there for the PG nature of WWE, but the realism of the comments turned things up a notch and the language fit the situation.

"You brought up family so let's talk about your family. Oh wait, you don't have one because your wife divorced you, took your kids and left your b-tch a--,", Seth Rollins said to Riddle. Riddle then went off and dropped a number of f-bombs saying he would find Rollins.

Winner/Loser: Miz Is Clearly Traumatized

Where WWE is taking this Dexter Lumis and Miz stuff is anyone's guess, but credit to The Miz for fully embracing the idea that he's not his normal arrogant and obnoxious self after what happened last week when Lumis dragged him away. This is all starting to feel like it's slowing down a bit, but it's staying fascinating enough to be entertaining. Was Lumis actually in the crowd? It was The Miz hallucinating?

Winner: A Conflicted Sami Zayn

Zayn was out with The Bloodline and you could see how much he relished being part of their entrances. He gave props to The Usos and that brought out Kevin Owens who reminded The Usos he was owed a favor by The Tribka Chief. Zayn was forced to explain why that wasn't the case and Owens appealed to his friend to rethink the direction he's headed as the group's designated clown. Jey got frustrated and threatened Owens. A match came out if the back and forth.

As the bout closed, the Usos had Owens in a vulnerable spot and Zayn had a chance to blast him with a chair. He wouldn't do it. Owens got the win and The Usos were hot. Zayn realized he probably stepped in it.

Winner: Tag Team Tournament Finals

The main event was the Final of the Women's Tag Team and while many fans were probably hoping and expecting an appearance by Sasha Banks and Naomi, WWE offered up a different surprise. Aliyah and Raquel Rodriguez won the Women's Tag Team Titles.

This match wasn't bad, but the best part about it required fans saw SmackDown where Aliyah was largely absent and "injured", leaving Rodriguez to battle and win on her own. The same thing appeared to be happening as Aliyah was out of it. But, a surprise tag at the end allowed her to sneak in and pick up the win for her team. She went from the weak link of her team to the unexpected hero.

Raw Match Results:

* Judgment Day defeated AJ Styles and Dolph Ziggler in a tag match. Priest hit his finisher on Ziggler for the three count.

* Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss and Asuka defeated three independent talents in a squash six-woman tag match.

* Street Profits defeat Alpha Academy and save Kurt Angle from having to be Gable and Otis' slave.

* Bobby Lashley tapped out a distracted Miz who kept seeing Dexter Lumis when others didn't. Miz was clearly traumatized by the kidnapping from last week.

* Kevin Owens defeated Jey Uso after Sami Zayn refused to hit his friend with a chair. The distraction allowed Owens to hit a Stunner for the win.

* Raquel Rodriguez and Aliyah defeated Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai in the Final of the Women's Tag Team Title tournament. Bayley was chased off and Aliyah snuck a tag to surprise Sky with a roll-up pin.
