Monday's Raw started with a big steel cage match between Lashley and Omos. From there, Mustafa Ali got screwed again, Riddle defeated Jimmy Uso despite a numbers disadvantage, Edge extended an open invitation to anyone who wants to join Judgment Day and Alexa Bliss battled Sonya Deville in a rematch. The main event started as a six-woman tag match but ended up being changed to a one-on-one featuring Becky Lynch vs. Asuka for a shot at Bianca Belair.

Here are your winners and losers for Monday night raw May 16, 2022:

Winner: Steel Cage Chaos

WWE went all out to ensure the opening match of the night was a big fight feel contest. An opening promo package, big introductions, and the history of Lashley's beef with MVP provided the backdrop as the steel cage opening of the show kicked things off with a bang. Having the announcers stand outside the cage to begin the show also added to the big fight feel. Cedric Alexander coming out to try and help Omos early as indicated this would be anything but a normal cage match.

The match itself was entertaining with Omos controlling most of the action. The finish was interesting as Omos sent Lashley through the cage breaking the sidewall and allowing Lashley to escape and have both feet touch the floor. The only downside here was that Omos and MVP did not figure out what was going on and the Nigerian Giant stood in the ring like a deer in headlights. It was a slightly awkward moment, but it didn't ruin the result.

Winner: Veer Defeats Mustafa Ali, Mysterios Return

A fun and well-delivered segment saw the deck stacked against Mustafa Ali again. Theory announced that he wouldn't be Ali's opponent but Veer Mahaan would be, with The Miz the special guest referee. As expected, the numbers game was too much and Ali lost. But, as Veer, The Miz and Theory tried to orchestrate an attack, the Mysterio's, Rey and Dominik made their return to save the day. Veer was furious they stopped him from using a table to inflict more damage to Ali.

WWE was able to accomplish a number of things with the segment. Veer looked like an unstoppable force, The Miz and Theory were up to no good,\ and played their heel roles well, while the Mysterios returned to a nice pop from the live crowd. Even Ali was protected in the loss.

Winner/Loser: Riddle Defeats Jimmy Uso

Ahead of the tag team unification match on Friday, Jimmy Uso went one-on-one with Riddle. That said, it was anything but a one-on-one match as Jey Uso often got involved. Jey got involved once too often, tried to help Jimmy get the win by securing a pin, and the referee caught him and threw him from ringside. In the chaos, Riddle rolled up Jimmy for the win.

This match was entertaining for what it was but without Roman reigns, Randy Orton it felt lacking. That said it set the stage for Friday's tag team title unification match effectively.

Loser: Banks and Naomi Walk Out Of Raw?

According to multiple reports, both Sasha Banks and Naomi walked out of Monday Night Raw tonight, forcing WWE to make a sudden shift and change the main event for the show. Corey Graves acknowledged the report when promoting it was now a singles match between Asuka and Becky Lynch and one can only assume he was told to do so by Vince McMahon who is probably upset the Women's Tag Team Champions took matters into their own hands over what has been reported as Naomi being scheduled to win a Six-Pack Challenge.

Sasha Banks Naomi Vince McMahon

This won't go over well if this is a legit backstage issue. There's one thing that Vince doesn't take kindly too and that's bailing on the show, the fans and what was planned for the show. Even if Banks had a legitimate reason for being upset, this is likely going to lead to massive consequences and this can't be good for either Banks or Naomi.

Winner: Rhodes vs. Rollins III, This Time In A Cell

A third match between two men on successive pay-per-views would normally be grounds to complain, but a third match between Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins is going to be off the hook. That the match is going to take place in a Hell in a Cell environment will offer an opportunity for these two men to really up the stakes. Rhode's promo selling the challenge was vintage Rhodes stuff and it's when he's at his best.

Winner: Asuka

After all that happened tonight on Raw with the women's division, Asuka came out on top and punched her ticket to Hell in a Cell to face Bianca Belair for the Raw Women's Championship. Considering how the rumors creatively suggested Naomi was supposed to win here, this might have all turned out for the better. Belair vs. Asuka is a relative dream match compared to the alternative.

* Lashley defeated Omos in a steel cage match when the cage broke as Omos threw The All Mighty through it. Lashley came to, stepped off the cage and won when both feet touched the floor.

* Veer Mahaan defeated Mustafa Ali thanks to help from The Miz as special guest referee and Theory on the outside. All three attacked Ali after the match but the Mysterios came down for the save.

* Riddle defeated Jimmy Uso in a singles match. As Jey was getting tossed from ringside, Riddle got the roll-three count.

* AJ Styles and Finn Balor defeated Los Lotharios in a tag match with Liv Morgan with them at ringside. They all did the Too Sweet sign to end the segment.

* Alexa Bliss defeated Sonya Deville in a singles rematch. Bliss had new punk music and Deville put up more of a fight, but ended up taking a DDT for the loss. She then smacked the official after her defeat which is likely to lead to consequences for the former WWE official.

* Ezekiel got a win over Chad Gable when he reversed a pinning combination.

* Asuka defeated Becky Lynch in a singles match after shooting mist into the face of Becky Lynch.
