This week's Monday Night Raw was about building up the final storylines for WWE Crown Jewel and setting the Finals for the King of The Ring and Queen's Crown tournaments. Meanwhile, Goldberg and Lashley continued to build towards their Crown Jewel match, Big E and Drew McIntyre got along for just long enough to pick up a win and Charlotte Flair tried to prove a point on her way to SmackDown.

Finally, the main event was out of this world good. Charlotte and Belair tore the house down.

Here are your winners and losers for Monday Night Raw, October 18, 2021:

Winner: Xavier Woods

There may be no WWE Superstar that ever wanted to win the King of the Ring crown as much as Xavier Woods does. He's made it his mission to win that tournament and he's so overdramatic when it comes to his victories and celebrations, if he doesn't win, it will be a bit disappointing. Woods picked up the pin over Jinder Mahal in the semifinals and he'll meet Balor in the Finals. The match was fine for what it was.

This was a segment where WWE could have done more than go with the easy decision and pick the fan-favorite to go over here. They did the right thing and went with the right winner.

Loser: Theory vs. Hardy

On his way to SmackDown, Jeff Hardy lost another match. He did get the last laugh during his segment with Austin Theory but it doesn't mean much with Hardy moving on and Theory staying on Raw. WWE would have been better served to pick a real winner here. The 50/50 booking didn't do much for either competitor. Theory should have either won definitively and acted like a jerk without consequences to keep his early momentum or WWE creative should have given Hardy a push as he headed towards Friday night.

Including the 24/7 stuff and R-Truth in the build-up of this match was another head-scratcher. This is the second week in a row that WWE has done this and it's not clear as to why they've connected such a title to Theory who would be better served being nowhere near it.

Winner: Street Profits vs. RK-Bro

This could have been a better match if it was permitted to play out like it would if this bout was booked for a pay-per-view. That said, the bout up to when AJ Styles and Omos came down and caused a disqualification was excellent. Orton was fired up while Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins both showed well.

WWE needed to build up the Raw Tag Team titles match between the two teams and this finish might have been the easiest way to do so, even if it was a tad lazy. Styles coming down and landing the Phenomenal Forearm, with Omos and Styles standing tall suggests they won't pull out the win on Thursday.

Loser: Goldberg and Lashley Double Down on Killing Theme

It's not clear if WWE has caught wind of the negative feedback that's come with Goldberg and Lashley so focused on killing one another on Thursday, but WWE alluded to that verbiage again on Monday night. It doesn't make a lot of sense to have each competitor threaten something they can't deliver on. Dropping it would have been the right play here. Instead, Goldberg hammered home the point saying he was going to beat Lashley to within an inch of his life and then finish the job. Lashley said, "You do know what you're saying right?" He then pointed out that just threatening someone's life on live television was illegal.

This could be an interesting match and if WWE is trying to set up something that has to do with the killing of another WWE talent, this is bound to be incredibly corny and potentially inappropriate. It is a No Holds Barred Match and that stipulation could have made this interesting. WWE pushed it into silly territory.

Winner: Doudrop

In what was a fairly predictable outcome with an unpredictable finish, Doudrop sent Shayna Baszler to SmackDown with a loss as she moves on in the Queen's Crown tournament with a win. She'll move on to face Zelina Vega in the Finals. The cards seem stacked against Vega, but this could be the perfect opportunity for WWE to throw a swerve into the mix and give Vega the tournament title. Vega would be an interesting queen because she'd relish the power. At the same time, Doudrop could be an interesting queen because her run would be rather goofy and could be quite entertaining. This is the best-case scenario coming out of the tournament, even if the matches haven't been wonderful.

Baszler didn't make sense to move on here even if a loss at this point in her push isn't the best.

Loser: Mace

WWE have Mace cut a promo last week where he said no one in the WWE locker room was at his level or concerning because his plan was to lay waste to everyone. One week later, he came out and got squashed by Finn Balor. The question now is why have him cut that promo? The match itself was quite meaningless as Balor had already won his way into the King of the Ring Finals. This whole segment was built to have Balor and Woods face-off near the throne in a staredown. There were other ways WWE could have gotten there.

Winner: Charlotte vs. Belair

The main event on Raw was incredible. Charlotte vs. Bianca Belair tore the house down and while the finish might not be up everyone's alley, there were moments during that bout where it seemed like Belair might win the title heading into Crown Jewel. Considering Charlotte is heading to SmackDown, this opens up a world of possibilities coming out of Thursday's pay-per-view. Will she take the title to SmackDown? Will she lose the title on the first night on the blue brand? Will Charlotte get involved somehow in Thursday's event and not go to SmackDown with the belt? Could Becky walk away from Crown Jewel still the champ and the two women switch belts?

This was a fantastic main event to close Raw on a high note. Tons of close pins and a contest that went down to the last few seconds of the show made it one of the big winners on the night.

WWE Raw Match Results:

* Xavier Woods defeats Jinder Mahal with a top-rope elbow to move on in the King of the Ring tournament. He celebrated at the top of the ramp like he'd won the WWE Championship.

* Austin Theory defeats Jeff Hardy who was the surprise opponent instead of R-Truth. Theory got the pin and then took a selfie on top of the laid-out Hardy. Hardy actually came to, hit his finisher, and did the same to Theory, taking a photo on his way to SmackDown.

* Drew McIntyre and Big E defeated The Dirty Dawgs. The Scottish Warrior and the WWE Champion got along long enough for Big W to finish Robert Roode off with The Big Ending for the win.

* Mansoor hit a neckbreaker for the win over Cedric Alexander. Mansoor was all business as he threatened to beat Mustafa Ali senseless on Thursday at Crown Jewel.

* AJ Styles and Omos came out and caused a disqualification to end the match between RK-Bro and The Street Profits. This was meant to build the heat between the two tag teams headed into Thursday's pay-per-view.

* Doudrop pinned Shayna Baszler to move on in the Queen's Crown tournament. She was being choked out by Baszler when she leaned back and got the pin for the surprise win.

* Finn Balor defeats Mace with the Coup de Grace. He went to the throne where Woods was watching on and tried to rip the scepter out of his hands.

* Charlotte gets disqualified but retains her Raw Women's Title after an outrageous main event.
