WWE switching Mandy Rose for Aliyah might make more sense than you think once the latter arrives on Raw.

WWE has been having more Superstars return to NXT lately. Breezango before they were released, Finn Balor, and Ember Moon. This week, Mandy Rose surprised fans by joining that list. It's unclear what her role will be, but her limited screen time so far suggests she will be a manager of some sort, scouting talent from the ramp in the first of two appearances on Tuesday.

Aliyah On Raw

It has since been reported that Raw will be getting an NXT Superstar to replace Rose. The black and gold brand's Aliyah. A surprising choice for some as Aliyah hasn't exactly been the biggest star in NXT. WWE clearly has something in mind for her though, and it might well be a role alongside Eva Marie.

Marie has been having Doudrop do her bidding on Raw since introducing the former NXT UK star to the red brand's fans. Doudrop doesn't exactly seem enamored with her new role, though. In fact, she doesn't even seem to like her new name, and who can blame her? Money in the Bank could well signal the end of Marie and Doudrop's tenuous relationship, at which point Marie will need to find someone else to fill the role.

Let Doudrop Be Piper Niven

If Aliyah continues to portray the same character she did in NXT, it will be a lot closer to the one Marie plays than Doudrop. It will also mean Doudrop can (hopefully) have her old name back and Raw's announcers can stop pretending they have never seen or heard of her before. She was in NXT UK for two years before showing up on the main roster.

If this does happen, it could be the beginning of a thread where WWE uses Marie as a vehicle to bring NXT stars onto the main roster. A few weeks of claiming their wins as her own before they get fed up with her and move on. Or, Aliyah could prove to be Marie's perfect protege and the pair could become a tag team. WWE needs more of those in the women's division right now, that's for sure.
