Roman Reigns is the number one guy in WWE today, despite being a huge heel. He is perhaps the only person on the roster who has reached a certain level of stardom that so few manage to reach, with him making history with a record-breaking and generational World Title reign.

UPDATE: 2022/12/05 11:45 EST BY Josh Evanoff

Roman Reigns has been the face of the WWE for years but is just now hitting his stride. As the leader and Tribal Chief of The Bloodline, he's currently in the midst of one of the most monumental title reigns in professional wrestling history. Years from now, the story of Reigns and his alliance with Sami Zayn, Solo Sikoa, Paul Heyman, and the Usos will be iconic.

His star outside of the wrestling ring however grows still. Thanks to his feud with popular online influencer Logan Paul, Reigns' stardom outside the WWE is getting stronger. The current WWE and Universal Champion has done a lot, to put it mildly outside the ring.

After high school, Roman Reigns headed to Georgia Tech. During his time at the university, he became a star on defense. He was a team captain in his senior year, and also earned All-ACC honors for his incredible work shutting down offenses.

While Reigns was a star on defense, the offensive side of the ball had a star in their own right. The future WWE champion played alongside Calvin Johnson, a future Detroit Lions pass catcher and Hall of Famer.

11 His Film Career

Roman Reigns has done a lot of voice acting work, but not much work on the big screen. He had a brief cameo in Netflix's 2020 movie The Wrong Missy and appeared in WWE Studios's Countdown in 2016.

However, those roles pale in comparison to his role in 2019's Fast and Furious: Hobbs and Shaw. In the film, Reigns stars alongside The Rock and plays his brother in a sizable role. While he didn't have to do much, the WWE star did great.

10 Has Two Sets Of Twins

Roman Reigns has five children, which is a huge number in itself. However, this likely wasn’t the plan, as on two separate occasions, Reigns and his wife had twins.

Having one set of twins is rare enough, but having two sets of twins is even more of a surprise. On the Impaulsive Podcast, Reigns commented on the hard work of having that many children, but is very much on board with the challenge of being a father-of-five.

9 Had A Promising NFL Career

Back in his high school days, Roman Reigns had high hopes for the future in the National Football League. During his days at both Pensacola and Escambia High Schools, Reigns was a major name on the football team - even being crowned with Player of the Year awards.

He would go on to captain his team during his senior year, which indicated that he had a lot of promise and talent.

Despite a promising start in his early football career, Reigns went undrafted in 2007, getting picked up and dropped by various teams due an array of reasons, some of which included medical problems.

The most prominent stage of his football career came in the Canadian Football League during a stint with the Edmonton Eskimos, however he ended up getting released. This led to Reigns deciding to call it a day and retire from the sport very early on.

7 He Could Have Worked For Tony Khan

There has never been even the smallest of inklings for Roman Reigns to go in the direction of Tony Khan’s AEW, but there may have been another way in which Reigns could have ended up working under AEW’s owner.

Back in 2007, Reigns was briefly signed to the Jacksonville Jaguars, and had he been a success in his footballing career, and if he had remained with the team for another five years, then he would have been a part of the team that was purchased by Shahid Khan, the father of Tony Khan, the latter of whom would also have a role running the franchise.

6 Married His Long-Time Partner

Back in 2006, Roman Reigns met Galina Becker at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where Reigns would study Management. The pair would start dating, before getting married eight years later in 2014.

They have remained with one another, having children and looking to live very happily, with it being over fifteen years since the pair first got together.

Roman Reigns is now no stranger to being featured in video games, however his time in WWE didn’t mark his debut appearance in a video game.

That came instead all the way back in 2004, in the NCAA Football 2005 game, which was released on the likes of the PlayStation 2 and the Xbox.

He wasn’t a very recognisable name at the time, although it is very interesting to look back to see this being his first time in a playable game.

4 He Has a Diverse Heritage

Roman Reigns was born in Florida, although he and his family are known for being part of the famous Samoan Anoa’i family, with many notable names coming from their lineage and “bloodline”. However, Reigns’ ancestry is more than just Samoan.

Due to the different backgrounds on both his mother and father’s sides, Reigns has English, Italian, Samoan, and Albanian blood, which must make a hugely interesting family tree to go back and look through.

3 Battles With Leukemia

Roman Reigns Announces He Has Cancer Cropped

Although it was unknown for a long time, Roman Reigns publicly shared his battles with cancer during a time in which he had to take a break from professional wrestling due to it returning. Reigns has fought off leukemia on more than one occasion, sending it into remission both during the latter parts of his NFL career, and once again during his WWE run.

It is something which may continue cropping up over time, but if his history with cancer has shown anything, it is that he is able to beat it time and time again.

2 Appeared In Fast & Furious Movie Series

Hobbs and Shaw

Some professional wrestlers over the years have ended up in Hollywood, with the likes of The Rock, John Cena, and Roddy Piper being among the most notable names to have made a successful jump to making movies.

Roman Reigns fits the bill to follow suit at some point, and has already found himself in a blockbuster Hollywood movie and franchise. He made an appearance in the Fast & Furious’ Hobbs & Shaw movie, in which he played The Rock’s brother.

1 He Has Done Some Voice Acting

Rumble Movie

Although Hobbs & Shaw has been Reigns’ only major movie appearance thus far, he has been doing some other work here and there in the film industry, likely to bolster his experience for when he may eventually make a permanent jump from professional wrestling to Hollywood.

Reigns has tried his hand at voice acting, voicing a character in the Elena of Avalor TV series, in addition to the WWE Studios produced Rumble movie, which also featured Becky Lynch. Whilst this was just a minor role, it is likely yet another sign that he may want to move in that direction at some point.
