However, a lot had changed in Rousey's life, when she went away from the squared circle. She became a mother for the first time, and the COVID-19 pandemic struck in 2020.

10 Ronda Rousey Vs. Raquel Rodriguez - SmackDown (5/27/22)
On the May 27, 2022, edition of SmackDown, Ronda Rousey and Raquel Rodriguez collided in a non-title match. Ronda and Raquel didn't even get the chance to get out of first gear in this match. There were a few reversals, and Raquel applied a submission maneuver on Ronda.
However, Natalya and Shayna Baszler had other ideas by interrupting the match. The duo assaulted Rousey and Raquel with the match barely lasting one minute, and an impromptu tag team match was created.
9 Ronda Rousey Vs. Shotzi - SmackDown (4/29/22)
Ronda Rousey was pitted with Shotzi in an "I Quit" Beat the Clock Challenge on the April 29, 2022 episode of SmackDown. Rousey relishes a challenge, and she kept an eye on the clock throughout the bout by looking at the titantron. Shotzi tried to escape to waste time on the clock, but Rousey rolled her back.
This was more of an angle than a match in truth with SmackDown Women's Champion Charlotte Flair keeping an eye on proceedings at ringside. Rousey cinched in the Ankle Lock with Shotzi uttering the words "I Quit" and she set 1 minute and 41 seconds on the clock for Charlotte to beat.
8 Ronda Rousey Vs. Sonya Deville - SmackDown (3/4/22)
The March 4, 2022 edition of SmackDown marked the first time Ronda Rousey competed on SmackDown. She was up against Sonya Deville, and they squared off in the main event. Rousey was looking to finish things off early on as she attempted the armbar but Charlotte distracted Rousey.
Deville momentarily took advantage but she was unable to sustain the momentum, that she had built. Moreover, Rousey was back in control as she connected with Piper's Pit, and Deville submitted to the armbar instantly in a relatively quick match for Rousey.
7 Ronda Rousey & Raquel Rodriguez Vs. Natalya & Shayna Baszler - SmackDown (5/27/22)
Ronda Rousey and Raquel Rodriguez joined forces after Natalya and Shayna Baszler interrupted their non-title match. The two teams were on a collision course in a back-and-forth contest. Moreover, Raquel managed to tag in Ronda who took down Natalya.
Nattie managed to fight back, and she cinched in the Sharpshooter. However, Raquel managed to break it up after she tagged in Ronda. Fans desperately wanted to see Rousey and Baszler clash, but it didn't happen, which may be saved for later down the line. Ultimately, Raquel secured the win for her team as she planted Baszler with the Tejana Bomb.
6 Ronda Rousey Vs. Shotzi - SmackDown (6/10/22)
Fans expected SmackDown Women's Champion Ronda Rousey and Shotzi's latest encounter to be one-way traffic in Rousey's favor. However, that couldn't be further from the truth. Shotzi had a lot of offense, and she executed an impressive tornado DDT off the apron onto the floor.
Surprisingly, Shotzi dominated the bout, but she crossed the line when she slapped Rousey a couple of times in the face. That incensed the Baddest Woman on the Planet, and she was fired up and the WWE Universe was firmly behind her. Rousey prevailed in a hard-fought battle with Shotzi tapping out to the debilitating armbar.
5 Women's Royal Rumble Match - Royal Rumble 2022
For the first time in three years, Ronda Rousey competed in a WWE ring when she returned to action in the 2022 Women's Royal Rumble match. Rousey was rusty, which is understandable considering her inactivity, and she was the 28th entrant in the Rumble.
The Baddest Woman on the Planet was devastating, and she tore through the field with ease. She eliminated Nikki A.S.H. and Brie Bella. She mixed it up with the likes of Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair. Shotzi was removed by Ronda, and Rousey was in the final two with SmackDown Women's Champion Charlotte Flair. Rousey's 10-minute cameo was enough to see her punch her ticket for a future Women's Championship match at WrestleMania 38.
4 Ronda Rousey Vs. Raquel Rodriguez - SmackDown (5/13/22)
On the May 13, 2022, edition of SmackDown, Ronda Rousey issued an open challenge in her first SmackDown Women's Championship title defense. Raquel Rodriguez answered the call, and she showcased her power in the early stages of this exceptional championship match.
Raquel let her intentions known early on as she took the fight to Rousey. Rousey attempted Piper's Pit but Raquel had other ideas. Raquel looked amazing in defeat with Rousey countering Raquel's powerbomb with a roll-through to retain the SmackDown Women's Championship.
3 Ronda Rousey & Naomi Vs. Charlotte Flair & Sonya Deville - Elimination Chamber 2022
Ronda Rousey competed in Saudi Arabia for the first time, and since women in Saudi covered up, Ronda wore a blue gi that she wore when she won the bronze medal in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. However, Rousey had one hand tied behind her back, and she teamed up with Naomi, as they collided with SmackDown Women's Champion Charlotte Flair and Sonya Deville in a tag team match at Elimination Chamber 2022.
This bout was tons of fun, and despite battling with one arm tied behind her back, Rousey did a good job. Rousey and Charlotte briefly touched base, and the heels isolated Rousey in their corner. Moreover, Naomi upped the tempo when Ronda managed to tag her in. Ultimately, the Baddest Woman on the Planet forced Deville to submit to the armbar.

Night One of WrestleMania 38 featured Ronda Rousey challenging Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women's Championship. This match could have been miles better, but Rousey and Flair had a physical match with both enjoying spells of dominance.
Rousey was the heavy favorite with the bookmakers to prevail, and she forced Charlotte to submit to the Ankle Lock but the referee was knocked down and failed to see it. The Queen got up, and she remained on her throne as she nailed Rousey with a big boot to the face to keep her title intact.

Ronda Rousey had another bite at the cherry in a high-profile SmackDown Women's Championship rematch with Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania Backlash 2022. This time, the stipulation was an "I Quit" match. The Baddest Woman on the Planet was right at home in this environment, and both women benefitted from this match as they brought out the best in each other.
The action spilled over into the crowd, and it was a competitive match right from the word go. Charlotte did everything in her power to retain her title, but Rousey fought out of Figure Eight. Ultimately, Rousey joined a select group of women to clinch both the Raw and SmackDown Women's Championships as she forced Charlotte to utter the words "I Quit" when she was in a precarious position.
