Since taking control of the creative side of WWE this past summer, Triple H has begun rehiring an ever-growing number of former stars that had all been released under Vince McMahon. Two of these WWE Superstars, Karrion Kross and Scarlett, would make their surprise returns after SummerSlam, joining the SmackDown brand and seemingly poised for a main event run. In the months since, Kross has fallen down the card, with his stock falling to midcard level heel rather than being a main event monster. With Scarlett being the only reason he has maintained any interest, in 2023, Triple H should cut his losses with Kross and focus on turning Scarlett into a proper solo act.

Paired Together, Scarlett Is Always Going To Be Second Fiddle To Karrion Kross

Scarlett Bordeaux & Karrion Kross

Despite being a real life couple, Karrion Kross and Scarlett were never paired together on-screen prior to their run in WWE. This would change when both debuted in NXT, with Scarlett being the spooky, seductive mind behind the monster, as she would play a major role in Kross getting over and established with NXT fans. Though Kross rose to the top of the developmental brand, becoming NXT Champion, most fans would agree that he was one of the weakest champions during the Black & Gold Era of NXT.

When Kross was called up to the main roster in 2021, he was turned into a literal jobber out of the gates and was even given a humiliating new look to boot. He arrived without Scarlett and looked like a fish out of water before getting released. While it was not fully on Kross that his first attempt at success on the main roster flopped, most fans' defense towards him was that he would have been fine had he been with Scarlett. In WWE, it appears that Scarlett is now seen as the way to get Kross over, rather than them trying to build her up as her own character.

Based Off Booking Since Their Return, Karrion Kross And Scarlett Are Pegged For The MIdcard

Drawing ire from a portion of the WWE Universe, Karrion Kross returned to the company during the summer, only to be placed around the main event scene as he would target both Drew McIntyre and Roman Reigns. The feud with Drew left fans split, with many not enjoying it, while Kross' biggest supporters still sided with him. Regardless of anyone's opinions on the feud and the matches that came from it, some things were certain. For starters, Scarlett was still the most interesting part of the act, and without her, Kross likely would have floundered against Drew. The other undeniable fact coming out of the feud is that Karrion Kross' stock on the main roster drastically declined, as he moved from targeting Reigns and McIntyre, to feuding with Madcap Moss. Nowadays, it feels like Triple H sees that Kross is not a main event star, though Scarlett could be.

As A Solo Act, Scarlett Could Become A Major Star In WWE's Women's Division

2022 was not a great year for the WWE Women's Division, with a depleted roster, numerous injuries, Naomi and Sasha Banks walking out, and less than great booking for the women Superstars. As Triple H continues to try and rebuild with recent signings such as Candice LeRae, Sarah Logan, Mia Yim, Emma, and Tegan Nox, there is still work to be done. Recently, Scarlett has begun to wrestle during live events for WWE, indicating that the company sees a future for her as a wrestler rather than just being cast as Karrion Kross' manager.

Looking to her run in Impact Wrestling, Scarlett played a similar character to NXT's Toxic Attraction, though played more comedically and light-hearted, as she was attempting to "make wrestling sexy again". While that does not need to be her gimmick in WWE, that run showed that she is more than capable of being a star on her own, as she got very over with fans during her time in Impact. Should Scarlett break away from Kross in 2023, she could become a major star in WWE's women's division, as the divisions on Raw and SmackDown are both in desperate need of new headlining stars.
