Anyone who is aware of Scarface knows that the Razor Ramon character is derived from that, but many don’t know the pitch wasn’t meant to be serious. The pitch even included lines from the movie, but apparently, Vince McMahon thought the idea was brilliant.

Coming up with a catchy name isn’t the easiest thing in the world. Making a catchy name work for someone who’s meant to be a tough guy isn’t any easier. Luckily, Tito Santana was around when Scott Hall was looking for a name to pair with Razor.

Razor might have ended up as his only name if Hall hadn’t mentioned that the character should have a full name. Tito Santana was able to come up with the name Ramon when Hall ended up going to him for help with a Latin-inspired name.

8 He Debuted Against Carmella’s Father

While the match wasn’t a big deal by any means, it is an interesting fact to learn that Hall began his WWE career proper against a modern women’s wrestler’s father. It was nothing more than a squash match, but it’s yet another fun connection in an industry filled with surprising links.

Rather than working his way up through the ranks, Razor Ramon cost Randy Savage a title match against Ric Flair, something that began a feud between the men. After that, Razor would go on to challenge Bret Hart for the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble, only half a year into his run.

Razor Ramon was paired up with some of the greatest talents to grace the wrestling industry during his WWE run. What many people may not know is that Hall was actually Ted Dibiase’s final WWE opponent during his first run with the company.

The two actually had a fun feud involving the 1-2-3 Kid, a feud that would see Ramon turning face. The two finally clashed at SummerSlam in what was a surprisingly short match. Despite the brevity, fans loved seeing the two men clash.
