WWE revealed Sasha Banks was unable to compete at SummerSlam at the very last minute, revealing a very special last minute replacement.

Rumors had been swirling all week long that for some reason, Sasha Banks versus Bianca Belair would not go ahead as planned at SummerSlam. Those rumors were not confirmed until the very last second. Belair was in the ring awaiting her opponent when the ring announcer revealed Banks was unable to compete. Carmella was then announced as her replacement.

Since Belair has faced Carmella a number of times already, the latest occasion being just 24 hours prior, the crowd was understandably not too happy. However, as the match was about to begin, a new challenger emerged. Becky Lynch's music hit, marking the first time The Man has been seen in WWE for well over a year.

Lynch proceeded to make her way to the ring, attacking Carmella and throwing her out of the ring. She then slammed The Queen of Staten Island into the steel steps for good measure before getting back in the ring and challenging Belair for the title. A challenge Belair gladly accepted so the match could finally get underway.

That was a decision Belair regretted just seconds later. As soon as the bell rang, Lynch hit the now-former SmackDown Women's Champion with what Michael Cole called a Manhandle Slam. Lynch then covered Belair, winning the title in very quick fashion. The crowd appeared to be just as stunned by the result as they were when they thought Carmella was going to be The Boss's replacement in the match.

Lynch's win makes her a four-time Women's Champion, and this is the third time she has won the SmackDown Women's Title. The way in which she won the match will have fans wondering how exactly WWE is going to frame her going forward, though. It wasn't as if she saw off a heel to take back the title. Lynch squashed a well-liked champ who was visibly upset after the match. Roll on SmackDown next week for the fallout.
