The history of WWE factions to fail featured various reasons for their shortcomings. WWE has shown the ability to create Hall of Fame worthy stables with groups like D-Generation X, Evolution, The Shield and New Day. Even though most groups hope to accomplish that much success, only a select few can reach such a top spot.RELATED: 5 WWE Factions That Started Off Awful, But Turned Out Great (& Vice Versa)Quite a few groups flat out flopped when fans had expectations of them accomplishing more. The stories range from the talent struggling to poor creative to other variables leading to the unfortunate results. One common trend puts the following groups together as they all failed to live up to expectations. However, they each had different reasons for the struggles leading to disaster.

10 The Corre: Nexus Flopping Killed Credibility

The Corre

WWE tried to pivot towards Wade Barrett having a new faction after CM Punk took over Nexus. The Corre featured Barrett moving to Smackdown with fellow former Nexus members Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater.

The addition of Ezekiel Jackson added a new talent as The Corre tried to get over as heels. Nexus was booked so badly with Barrett losing all credibility that they couldn’t get the audience to care. The Corre was going to fail from day one and WWE disbanded them after a few months.

9 League Of Nations: Years Of Losing In The Mid-Card

The League Of Nations

Another failed faction for Wade Barrett saw him joining the League of Nations under Sheamus’ leadership. The four heels of Barrett, Rusev, Alberto Del Rio and Sheamus formed when Sheamus won the WWE Championship to feud with Roman Reigns.

All four names had strong potential at various points, but WWE’s 50/50 booking saw them all losing momentum by the time they formed together. The League of Nations held little value beyond losing to Reigns and struggled to get over.

8 Los Boricuas: Fans Only Knew Savio Vega

Los Boricuas

WWE wanted to have a faction warfare feud when multiple mid-card factions formed to feud with the established Nation of Domination. Savio Vega was the only wrestler in Los Boricuas to have a WWE run going when the Puerto Rican wrestlers became a unit.

The signings of other wrestlers from Puerto Rico didn’t give them much of an introduction beyond Savio declaring he wanted his own group. Los Boricuas never had the same value as the Nation or a few other groups due to the audience barely knowing 75% of the faction.

7 Dogs Of War: Forced Together For Shield Feud

Dogs Of War

The Shield reuniting led to WWE trying to come up with some interesting new factions to oppose them. Braun Strowman turning heel led to him uniting with the team of Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler as the Dogs of War to face the mutual enemies of The Shield.

Unfortunately, nothing about the trio felt organic and they didn’t have the credibility to truly challenge Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose. The Dogs of War lacked chemistry and were just three singles acts placed together to give The Shield someone to beat.

6 X-Factor: X-Pac Heat

X-Factor

The term X-Pac heat started in 2001 when X-Pac received a push with his own faction known as X-Factor. WWE wanted to push three heels together with X-Pac leading the returning Justin Credible and relatively new Albert.

The hope for a new hot act ended almost instantly when the audience seemed to revolt against X-Pac aggressively unlike any other mid-carder. X-Pac was heckled with the audience not wanting to see him during this chapter of his career.

5 The Corporate Ministry: Too Many Leaders

The Corporate Ministry

WWE formed The Corporate Ministry faction when putting two successful groups of The Corporation and Ministry of Darkness together. The desire to have a powerful entity of two factions just misfired due to the inconsistencies.

There were too many top names all trying to be the top dog with the wrestlers looking weaker. Triple H and The Undertaker took a backseat to Vince and Shane McMahon continuing their feud with Steve Austin. The Corporate Ministry had one of the most loaded star-studded groups, but it was too many cooks trying to be head chef.

4 Spirit Squad: Buried By DX

Spirit Squad

The Spirit Squad received a huge push when debuting as five top prospects in a heel faction. WWE coming up with a heel cheerleader gimmick for all five names, but a main event feud ended up causing their overall demise.

Triple H and Shawn Michaels reforming D-Generation X led to the Spirit Squad being their first rivals. WWE picked the Spirit Squad due to the potential of DX getting to insult them with jokes and in-ring burials. The end of the group came after DX destroyed them one too many times to end the run.

3 The Cabinet: No One Was Over But JBL

The Cabinet

JBL getting pushed as a top heel when winning the WWE Championship led to him getting the chance to lead his own faction. The Cabinet featured Orlando Jordan, the Basham Brothers and Amy Weber all following JBL’s lead to secure his dominance over the Smackdown brand.

Unfortunately, none of the members were able to get over in any noteworthy manner outside of JBL. WWE even put all the male titles on The Cabinet members, but no one had any crowd interest but JBL to end the faction.

2 PCB: Characters Lacked Chemistry

PCB

WWE starting the women’s evolution featured Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch getting called up to form PCB with Paige. The two top prospects entered a trio with the established Paige for a stable with a lot of star power that should have worked on paper.

Each character was so different with the same goal of singles title success. The overall concept of having a faction made no sense since they were competing with each other to get a crack at the Divas Championship. Charlotte and Becky didn’t start finding their groove in WWE until splitting from Paige and having more time on their own.

1 New World Order: Bad Luck

NWO WWE

WWE took a huge risk bringing in the trio of Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall back as the New World Order faction. The idea seemed perfect since the nWo was WCW’s hottest act, but it just wasn’t meant to work in WWE due to the timing.

Hogan having a great performance against The Rock at WrestleMania 18 showed the audience wanted him on his own as a face. Hall was dealing with his personal demons to get fired and start a turnover of members. The new version of the group ended completely when Nash suffered a torn quad to end the run with all three members having different reasons for their removal.
