10 Barry Windham - 52

Barry Windham v Steve Austin

Barry Windham is an often underrated and under-credited wrestler who was one of the most talented men of his generation. However, because he isn't spoken about at the same level as others a lot of people would likely be surprised that he's one of Steve Austin's most frequent opponents.

The two of them did team together at points, but they also found themselves on opposite sides of the ring during Austin's run with the Dangerous Alliance. They competed 52 times against each other with Austin managing just four victories.

9 Mankind - 53

8 Shane Douglas - 59

Shane Douglas

Shane Douglas is another fantastic performer that Steve Austin was able to work against frequently during his time in WCW. They had several singles matches across their 59 encounters, however, the vast majority of them were tag team encounters.

They battled for the NWA/WCW Unified Tag Team Titles regularly during their rivalry. This came during Austin's time working alongside Brian Pillman as The Hollywood Blondes, which was a key period in his career.

7 Sting - 63

Steve Austin vs Sting

Those who were only fans of WWE back in the Monday Night Wars missed out on a lot of classic encounters and dream matches, and this was one of them. Because Sting spent so many years refusing to join WWE, competing against the likes of Steve Austin in that world never happened.

However, Austin and Sting did share the ring a whopping 63 times during his WCW career. A lot of their encounters were at house shows, but Austin didn't have much look against the Icon as he beat him just six times.

6 Triple H - 83

2002 Royal Rumble Cropped

Triple H was one of the top heels in WWE during the Attitude Era, and that led to him being an ideal foil for Steve Austin who was the ultimate babyface in that period. They competed against each other 83 times over the years, often bringing the best out of each other.

They both wrestled very physically and liked to hold nothing back due to their old-school styles and ideologies. This allowed their matches to be a ton of fun to watch, which is why they were put together so frequently.

5 Dustin Rhodes - 94

However, The Rock isn't Austin's most frequent opponent. Despite that, they did compete against each other 98 times, and despite how good Rock was, Austin won 79% of their encounters.

3 Kane - 103

Steve Austin and Kane had a long history against each other in WWE and were involved in some huge moments together. Whether it was competing in a tag team Hell in a Cell match, or the fact that Kane won his first WWE Championship by defeating the Texas Rattlesnake.

While their rivalry might not be as iconic as some of the others that Austin had throughout his run in wrestling, the two men competed against each other 103 times. WWE clearly trusted this combination, whether it was in singles or tag team encounters.

2 The Undertaker - 114

The Undertaker narrowly edged his Brothers Of Destruction partner in terms of matches against Steve Austin, as he faced the Texas Rattlesnake 114 times. Steve Austin vs Ricky Steamboat

Out of everyone Steve Austin has competed against it is Ricky Steamboat who he has shared the ring with the most, which might surprise some fans. However, early on in Austin's career Steamboat was someone he worked against a lot, which proved to be a great learning experience for him.

There are few better people in the history of the business to work against than Steamboat, and that no doubt helped improve a young Austin in WCW. They had several battles over the United States title, including some great PPV and television encounters across their 153 matches.
