The Rock is the "Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment" today and it's hard to argue that point. Rock was a full-time competitor in WWE for just under six years, before he decided to pursue an acting career. He's arguably the most successful wrestler who has traded their wrestling boots for Hollywood. Nevertheless, when Rock was at the top of his game as a main eventer, it was rare that he'd sustain losses.

Rock returned to WWE for a brief stint in 2003 after he was booed out of the building in SummerSlam 2002. He featured in short-term storylines, and the same in 2004 but he did not return to WWE for seven years until 2011. The 10-time WWE World Champion's WWE career was outstanding, and he returned the favor by losing a few matches on his way out.

The Rock and his former rival Steve Austin were on the same page, and they were in tag team action against the reigning Undisputed WWE Champion Chris Jericho, and The Undertaker who was the WWE Hardcore Champion. This was one of the biggest main events in the history of Raw.

The action was fantastic, and both teams had offense here. In the closing stages, Jericho cinched in the Walls of Jericho on Rock but Austin saved Rock by executing a Stunner on Y2J. Undertaker pulled the referee out of the ring, and he clocked Rock with his lead pipe which he retrieved from his motorcycle. Jericho took advantage and he covered Rock for the win.

9 W/ Steve Austin Vs. nWo - Raw (3/11/02)

The go-home edition of Raw heading into WrestleMania 18 featured The Rock and Steve Austin teaming up once again but they took on the nWo's Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, and Scott Hall. This was Hogan's first match in a WWE ring for nine years.

Despite being a heel, Hogan received a huge reception from the fans. The nWo used the extra man to their advantage to gain the upper hand. It wasn't a good match, but Hogan connected with a big boot on Rock and he followed it up with a leg drop for the win.

8 W/ Hollywood Hogan Vs. nWo - Raw (3/25/02)

The Rock and Hollywood Hogan were on the same page after Hogan turned face after their WrestleMania epic. The pair collided with Hogan's former stablemates, the nWo comprised of Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, and X-Pac in a handicap match on the same night that the inaugural WWE draft lottery took place.

Nash, Hall, and X-Pac dominated proceedings but Rock and Hogan battled back. Rock executed the Rock Bottom on Nash and Hogan followed it up with a leg drop. X-Pac broke up the count, and Rock took down Hall with a spinebuster. Moreover, Rock and Hogan lost by disqualified as Kane attacked the nWo.

7 W/ The Undertaker, Booker T & Goldust Vs. Triple H & The Un-Americans - Raw (8/12/02)

There was a huge eight-man tag team match on the August 12, 2002 episode of Raw. The Rock teamed up with The Undertaker, Booker T, and Goldust. Their opponents were Triple H, and the Un-Americans comprised of Test, and the WWE Tag Team Champions Lance Storm and Christian.

Rock was the reigning Undisputed WWE Champion, and it was a decent match with both teams getting a foothold on the match. Chaos ensued in the closing stages with all eight competitors in the ring. Moreover, Rock was close to putting Test away with the Rock Bottom but Triple H pulled the referee out of the ring. Undertaker was going for the Last Ride on Christian but Test booted Undertaker in the face and he covered him for the win.

6 Vs. Brock Lesnar - SummerSlam 2002

The Rock defended the WWE Championship against Brock Lesnar in the main event of SummerSlam 2002. The Next Big Thing was in a rich vein of form as he won the King of the Ring tournament, and he was bidding to become the youngest WWE Champion at the age of 25.

Everyone knew that Rock was going to leave WWE for Hollywood which is why he was booed out of the building. The match was superb, but Lesnar was dominant from start to finish. He finished off Rock with an F5 to become WWE Champion for the first time in his career.

5 Battle Royal - Raw (2/24/03)

Despite being a member of SmackDown, The Rock was involved in the Battle Royal on the February 24, 2003 episode of Raw. The winner would go on to face Triple H for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 19.

Rock was one of the overwhelming favorites to prevail but the likes of Booker T, Kane, Rob Van Dam, and Chris Jericho were amongst the field. Nonetheless, Rock and Booker were the final two participants with Rock attempting to throw Booker over the top rope but Booker launched Rock over the top rope for the win. Rock sat down on the ramp in disbelief and despite his disappointment, he showed his class by applauding Booker

4 Vs. The Hurricane - Raw (3/10/03)

The Rock was looking to build some momentum heading into his mouthwatering third WrestleMania meeting with Steve Austin at WrestleMania 19. However, Rock was engaged in a brief feud with The Hurricane, and they were opponents on the March 10, 2003 edition of Raw.

They headlined Raw in a No Disqualification match, and hardly anyone believed that Hurricane had a chance to upset the odds. Austin distracted Rock which allowed Hurricane to beat Rock which was one of the biggest upsets in WWE history.

3 Vs. Goldberg - Backlash 2003

After The Rock beat Austin at WrestleMania 19, he began feuding with Goldberg, who finally made his WWE debut on the Raw after WrestleMania. They finally went one-on-one in the main event of Backlash 2003, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing match.

Their chemistry was nowhere to be seen, and during the match, Goldberg stole Rock's patented Rock Bottom. The result was inevitable with Goldberg seeing off Rock with a spear followed by a jackhammer to get his WWE career off to a positive start.

2 W/ Mick Foley Vs. Evolution - WrestleMania 20

The Rock returned to aid Mick Foley in his rivalry with Evolution. At WrestleMania 20, The Rock 'n' Sock Connection slugged it out with Evolution's Randy Orton, Batista, and Ric Flair in a handicap match in the hallowed halls of Madison Square Garden.

This match was better than expected and it was an entertaining affair. Rock connected with the People's Elbow on Flair but the Nature Boy kicked out. Foley and Orton were the legal men, and Foley was looking for the Mandible Claw but Orton connected with an RKO out of nowhere. Evolution prevailed to heap more WrestleMania misery on Foley.

For the first time in 12 years, The Rock walked into WrestleMania as the reigning WWE Champion at WrestleMania 29. Rock defended his championship against John Cena in a rematch from their WrestleMania 28 bout.

Rock tore his adductor which hampered the quality of the match. Moreover, the result was predictable with Cena regaining the WWE Championship for a record 11th time and a 13th WWE World Championship reign overall. Afterward, Rock showed his class with the Great One giving the new WWE Champion credit by raising his hand at the top of the ramp.
