The Shield is one of the most iconic factions of all time with a perfect trio of wrestlers that blended brilliantly to create some fantastic moments and matches. With Ambrose having walked away from the company, it is unknown if there will ever be another match for the Houds Of Justice in the future, but even in their final matches they put together some superb encounters.

This match was the third time that this exact match took place and because of that, things felt a little repetitive when this one took place. It wasn't fresh, but the action was solid throughout, which is expected between six wrestlers of this quality.

A big part of this match was the group falling out as Dean Ambrose heavily teased the idea of turning on his partners. However, they were still able to stand tall in the end, which was something that ended the storyline nicely.

9 The Shield & Jason Jordan vs. Finn Balor & The Club (Raw, 1/8/18)

This was a unique match as it didn't feature the true trio of The Shield as Dean Ambrose wasn't involved in this one. Jason Jordan took his place due to the fact he was working with Seth Rollins at the time and it provided a different type of interaction.

The match itself was fun though, with Finn Balor putting in a lot of work throughout it to entertain the WWE Universe. Jordan was ultimately the downfall of the group in this one, which was smart storytelling due to the fact he's not a normal member.

Tribute To The Troops is always a fun show, but it's one that often sees a lot of random matches take place without too much focus on storylines. However, when The Shield battled The Bar and Samoa Joe, they were able to put on a very fun encounter.

This was an opening match for the event so it was done at a high tempo in order to get the crowd excited from the start. The back and forth action was good with Cesaro seriously impressing throughout, as The Shield also had to fight back from underneath, which led to an exciting finish.

7 The Shield vs. The Miz & The Bar (Raw, 11/13/17)

This was the first time that The Shield had competed together in three years, which instantly made this a big deal. The choice of heels for this match was ideal as Sheamus and Cesaro could match them in terms of physicality and in-ring skills, while The Miz was the perfect coward.

He was able to frustrate the group and the audience throughout the match, which was something that helped to enhance the drama within this one. Of course, The Shield came out on top during their return to the ring, giving the fans a perfect moment.

6 The Shield vs. Bobby Lashley, Baron Corbin, & Drew McIntyre (The Shield's Final Chapter, 2019)

The fact WWE turned a live event into a WWE Network special specifically for The Shield to have one final moment showcases how respected the group was. This wasn't competed at the same level as a traditional PPV match, but it was a true feel good moment for everyone involved.

It allowed The Shield to hit their greatest hits, which is all that people wanted to see from this encounter. They were able to hit their classic moves with Dean Ambrose obviously being the central focus, whilethe fans helped create a suitable atmosphere to end it in style.

5 The Shield vs. AOP & Baron Corbin (Raw 9/24/18)

This was a classic example of a Shield six-man tag team match in the sense that it was incredibly chaotic, fast-paced and action packed. There was something happening at every moment with tons of huge power moves taking place which were great to watch.

Seeing Seth Rollins picking up the pace throughout the match was great, while Dean Ambrose was at his frantic best. The match was a real surprise hit on the show, but it ended up being one of the better later encounters.

4 The Shield vs. Baron Corbin, Drew McIntyre, & Bobby Lashley (Fastlane, 2019)

With this being a PPV main event, this was a much bigger deal with this getting plenty of time, which allowed them to thrive. The Shield were truly dominant in this one, putting together their pack dog mentality as they caused problems throughout for the heels.

There were moments when this one did actually drag on a little bit too much, however it allowed for a lot of detail and selling to be put into the match. Everyone got time to shine in this one as they put together a real quality experience for the fans.

This match had been built up brilliantly leading up to it and the in-ring action didn't disappoint. Throughout the bout Dean Ambrose teased the idea that he would turn heel, which added an extra layer of drama and storytelling without any need for wrestling.

However, the in-ring work was obviously brilliant as well. The mix of power and agility within each team was fantastic and it allowed for a fantastic match to take place that fans certainly remembered from the end of The Shield's run.

This match was far stronger than what they did on the PPV which benefitted from having a hotter crowd and more time. Roman Reigns is normally the dominant member of the group, but they flipped that on its head here with him being the man that was beaten down and attacked throughout the match.

It was an interesting angle to take that was totally different from most Shield matches. Drew McIntyre was the dominant force throughout this one, being allowed to really stand tall and thrive, which was clear that WWE had big plans for him.

Out of all their final matches, The Shield's encounter against The New Day was by far their greatest. This was a true dream match between two of the greatest trio groups in wrestling history and they didn't disappoint inside the ring.

With a lot of star power and respect from the fans, the atmospere was brilliant throughout this one. They went back and forth with some amazing teamwork, near falls and fast-paced action which created an unforgettable match.
