Their rivalry finished prematurely, although Lita was relegated to managing the 2004 Divas Search winner Christy Hemme. At WrestleMania 21, Hemme challenged Trish for the Women's Championship in a losing effort. Nevertheless, at WrestleMania X8 both Trish and Lita had a golden opportunity as they challenged Jazz in a triple threat match for the WWE Women's Championship. Injuries plagued Lita throughout her career, and this was her only match at 'Mania throughout her career. However, Trish was outnumbered and she realized that she needed some backup to aid her in her feud with Lita. Trish recruited Viscera as her bodyguard. This often gets overlooked since Trish and Viscera's alliance was relatively short-lived. Viscera was unable to get the job done by losing to Kane at Backlash 2005 with Trish no longer needing Viscera by her side as Viscera laid her out and turned face.
