WWE is in full swing building up to the Money in the Bank Premium Live Event. The show is scheduled to take place on July 2nd, 2022 live from MGM Grand Garden Arena in the Las Vegas suburb of Paradise, Nevada. The card for the event is stacked and as always all eyes are set on the titular ladder matches.
Just like its male counterpart, the women's Money in the Bank ladder match has many past and future world champions involved. Unpredictability is also a key feature of this competition, as the last two editions of the show saw Otis and Nikki A.S.H. win the briefcase. Thus, it's not easy to say which superstar would call herself Ms. Money in the Bank 2022. Nonetheless, we can still try to predict the favorites on the basis of what's going on in their career at the time.
7 Shotzi
Shotzi was one of the best acts on NXT where one would wait for entrance to see her riding a tank to the ring. She is an extremely talented superstar, but it would be too early for her to get the briefcase especially when there are many more stars who deserve it more. Moreover, she has not had a very impressive record since joining the main roster. Thus, although she should become a women's champion in the future, Money in the Bank 2022 may not be the event where she stands tall over everyone else.
6 Asuka
Asuka holds some of the most distinctive records in the women's division. She had an almost three-year unbeaten streak, won the very first edition of the women's Royal Rumble match, is a multi-time women's champion, and also won the corporate ladder match for Money in the Bank. Ever since she returned to WWE in 2022, The Empress of Tomorrow has been in the title picture against Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair.
However, she doesn't really need the briefcase. Asuka has already won the briefcase before and this may not be the time for her to win it for the second time. Both Bianca Belair and Ronda Rousey are babyfaces and a babyface Ms. Money in the Bank won't be much helpful.
5 Alexa Bliss
Alexa Bliss is a former multi-time world champion and has also won the briefcase. She did so in 2018 and successfully cashed it on Nia Jax. Her solo title run was underwhelming and later won tag titles before getting involved with the involvement in The Fiend-Randy Orton storyline. As she has now gradually come back to her human self, this may be the time for The Goddess to get back into the title picture.
Bliss is a strong contender in the ladder match, and it won't be much surprising if she indeed emerges victorious. However, she has not been booked much strongly going into the match, and the 50/50 booking in matches doesn't look like a strong indication.
4 Raquel Rodriguez
Raquel Rodriguez debuted on SmackDown and soon got herself a couple of matches against Ronda Rousey. Though she couldn't put down the rowdy superstar, Rodriguez did impress fans with her performance. She soon got back on track after defeating Shayna Baszler and landing herself the spot in the ladder match. The former NXT star is getting a considerable push and is one of the favorites going into the contest.
3 Lacey Evans
Lacey Evans returned to WWE a few months ago and fans haven't seen her much in the action. Vignettes of her story aired on RAW for quite a time before she was drafted to SmackDown. Soon, Evans defeated Xia Li and became the first woman to qualify for the women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match. Since returning to WWE, she has not yet lost a single match out of the few she has competed on TV and on live events. Thus, it won't be a stretch to imagine Evans as Ms. Money in the Bank 2022.
2 Liv Morgan
While Liv Morgan has not won every match in recent times, she is still among the favorites in the ladder match. Morgan is perhaps the most famous female superstar in WWE who has not won even a single championship. She has challenged for the titles numerous times in the past, but luck has favored her opponents, despite her brilliant performances.
This may be the time for WWE to push her to a title run. It isn't hard to imagine her as the Money in the Bank winner and eventually the world champion because she already has stardom of a champion. It also would be great to have her hold the briefcase if somehow Rhea Ripley gets her hands on any of the two women's titles in the future.
1 Becky Lynch
We talked about how a losing streak before a big match affects one's chance of winning that one. But it may be totally upside down in Becky Lynch's case. She is clearly frustrated due to her recent results. The Man first lost her prestigious RAW Women's Championship, then lost in every chance to reclaim the gold, and even couldn't win the 24/7 Championship.
However, there's a sigh of relief as she finally made it into the ladder match after winning a last-chance contest. As surprising as it may sound, The Man has never won the briefcase. Her booking from the last few months may have been leading to her win. This may be how Lynch gets back on track. While fans think she could be the winner, there's a possibility she doesn't and her frustration grows even more.
