WWE has a mixed history of how they booked the women’s division in each era. Older eras saw the women struggling to get much television time to tell their stories or expand their characters. Recent history has seen the women’s division getting treated with more respect and having main event opportunities.

One constant for each era of women’s wrestling is that there were many feuds that didn’t make the most sense. Most rivalries require a stronger level of chemistry or to have everything firing on all cylinders. WWE didn’t always do that, and it hurt the talents involved. Each of the following WWE feuds between women’s wrestlers made no sense in the bigger picture.

10 Becky Lynch Vs Lacey Evans

Becky Lynch v Lacey Evans Stomping Grounds 2019 Cropped

WWE has always been high on Lacey Evans as a future star from the start of her main roster run. Evans was pushed from the start when debuting in early 2019. The first few months featured Lacey making her entrance and refusing to do anything else.

This somehow moved into a feud with top female star Becky Lynch after she won the historic WrestleMania 35 main event. WWE even crossed this feud over into the Seth Rollins vs Baron Corbin program for a mixed tag feud. Nothing about the Becky vs Lacey side made any sense and led to it flopping.

9 Charlotte Flair Vs The Iconics

The IIconics Debut

The call-up of Peyton Royce and Billie Kay saw them instantly entering a major storyline. Charlotte Flair was attacked on the Smackdown after WrestleMania 34 when the Iconics made their first appearance as a team on the main roster.

Carmella cashed in Money in the Bank after the attack to win the Smackdown Women’s Championship from Charlotte. WWE had a short-lived feud with the Iconics that featured Charlotte winning almost every match. There was no logic to their feud other than wanting a way for Carmella to cash in.

8 Torrie Wilson Vs Candice Michelle

Candice Michelle Vs Torrie Wilson WrestleMania 22

WWE placed Torrie Wilson and Candice Michelle together in the Vince’s Devils faction with Victoria. All three ladies had great chemistry together with the heel act giving them reasons to continue having segments outside of the Women’s Championship picture.

WrestleMania 22 season featured the breakup when Candice betrayed Torrie after posing for Playboy and wanting all the spotlight. The feud somehow paid off with a pillow fight on the biggest stage with no heat since fans didn’t buy their issues.

7 Asuka Vs Dana Brooke

Asuka Vs Dana Brooke

NXT pushed Asuka as a top star from the start when she had an undefeated streak from day one. Triple H clearly realized the potential and star power of Asuka if he booked her well. However, one hiccup was the first feud for Asuka in NXT.

The heel duo of Dana Brooke and Emma targeted Asuka looking to get the unfair advantage. Brooke had Asuka’s first WWE match ever in a move that made little sense since she was so inexperienced. Emma would have been the more logical choice, but that feud came later.

6 Team BAD Vs PCB Vs Team Bella

The start of the women’s evolution featured Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch all called up to the main roster from NXT. Unfortunately, WWE went a confusing route of introducing them when placing everyone into factions.

Charlotte and Becky paired with Paige to form the PCB group, Sasha united with Naomi and Tamina as Team BAD, and the Bella Twins had Alicia Fox to form their trio. WWE added little logic to the group feud, especially since no one was able to show their individual personality as strongly as in NXT.

5 Alexa Bliss Vs Eva Marie

One of the most recent WWE feuds to flop in the women’s division saw Eva Marie feuding with Alexa Bliss. WWE had high hopes for Eva when she returned to WWE, and this was her biggest storyline culminating in a SummerSlam 2021 match.

Eva picking on her sidekick Doudrop and trying to bully Bliss regarding her doll Lilly was a strange build. Bliss winning the PPV match benefited Doudrop most for ditching Eva afterwards. Both Alexa and Eva looked terrible throughout this nonsensical feud.

4 Shayna Baszler Vs Becky Lynch

Becky Lynch v Shayna Baszler WrestleMania 36

WWE calling up Shayna Baszler from a highly successful run and placing her in a feud against Becky Lynch for WrestleMania 36 was something many fans wanted on paper. However, no one could have expected it turning into a disaster.

The feud started off strange at Survivor Series 2019 when a face Becky attacked Shayna for winning the main event fairly while representing the NXT brand. Baszler getting called up saw it making less sense when she started trying to bite Lynch in the build with fans making vampire jokes.

3 Chyna Vs Lita

Chyna v Lita Judgment Day 2001 Cropped

A rare dream feud between female wrestlers for WWE in the Attitude Era featured Lita and Chyna on opposite sides. Chyna was the dominant Women’s Champion after moving to the division and destroying Ivory to win the gold.

Lita was getting over huge as a babyface around this time and earned a title shot with the fans behind her. The story made little sense with Chyna looking down at Lita at various points despite both being faces. Rumors of Chyna refusing to lose saw her winning and it coming awkwardly when celebrating Lita after the tension beforehand.

2 Charlotte Flair Vs Toni Storm

WWE missing the boat on Toni Storm looks like a huge mistake given her success everywhere but their main roster. The short-lived stint featured Storm’s most noteworthy program coming in a feud against Charlotte Flair.

An absurdly written angle featured them both hitting each other with pies to sell the feud with fans not knowing how to take it. Things were going so bad that Toni requested her release during a house show tour and wanted out to find happiness elsewhere.

1 Naomi Vs Lana

Lana Naomi

Many fans forget just how much WWE believed in Lana when trying to push her on a few occasions before giving up. Lana was repackaged to return to Smackdown as a singles star when challenging Naomi for the Smackdown Women’s Championship.

The roster was deep with strong names to make it less ideal that Lana lucked into multiple title shots without proving she was now a credible wrestler. Naomi’s title run took a hit around this time, and Lana never lived up to the hype.
