When you get into the wrestling business, the majority of wrestlers have the aspiration of competing in WWE and winning a World Championship. Several wrestlers have been fortunate to win a World Championship in WWE. However, whilst wrestling isn't just an individual sport, tag team wrestling is just as important. Some World Champions have managed to add a Tag Team Championship to their collection.

The likes of Edge and Jeff Hardy are prime examples of wrestlers who started as tag team competitors and won multiple Tag Team Championships before they went on to win World Championships. Moreover, some World Champions who won a Tag Team Title went on to become Triple Crown or Grand Slam Champions, but those who haven't won a Tag Team Title in WWE won't be losing too much sleep over it either.

10 Sgt. Slaughter

Sgt. Slaughter shocked the world when he defeated The Ultimate Warrior for the WWE Championship at the 1991 Royal Rumble. Slaughter turned heel, and he became an-Iraqi Sympathizer. Former WWE Champion Colonel Mustafa better known as the Iron Sheik, and General Adnan were his managers.

9 Jack Swagger

Swagger World Heavyweight Champion Cropped

Surprisingly, Jack Swagger has held a WWE Tag Team Championship considering he teamed up with the likes of Dolph Ziggler and Cesaro. Nonetheless, Swagger held the ECW Championship and the United States Championship in WWE.

Swagger won the Money in the Bank ladder match at WrestleMania 26, and days later he successfully cashed in the briefcase at Chris Jericho's expense on the following taping of SmackDown to become the World Heavyweight Champion. The All-American, American's run as World Heavyweight Champion was underwhelming as he wasn't booked strongly.

8 The Great Khali

Khali World Heavyweight Champion Cropped

It remains to be seen if The Great Khali would have become a World Champion in WWE had Edge not suffered an untimely injury. Khali clinched the vacant World Heavyweight Championship in a Battle Royal in July 2007. Khali feuded with Batista for the entirety of his championship run which lasted two months.

Khali wasn't a very good in-ring competitor due to his immobility around the ring. Nevertheless, the WWE Hall of Famer was primarily a singles wrestler which is why he never won a Tag Team Championship.

The Ultimate Warrior had a reputation for being incredibly difficult to work with behind the scenes, but he was one of the most popular wrestlers with the fans. Warrior only won the WWE Championship once, and it was a huge moment when he dethroned Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania 6 as he held both the WWE and Intercontinental Championships simultaneously.

Warrior spent the majority of his career as a singles competitor, although he did team up with Hogan and Randy Savage briefly. Nonetheless, Warrior didn't need a Tag Team Championship and he had two steady runs as Intercontinental Champion.

5 Jinder Mahal

Jinder Mahal WWE Champion 2017 Cropped

Nobody took Jinder Mahal seriously when he was a member of 3MB. He became a laughing stock, but when he returned to WWE, he clearly put in the work as he had a new physique and his in-ring skills improved drastically.

Mahal beating Randy Orton for the WWE Championship at Backlash 2017 is still one of the most surprising World Title changes in WWE history. Barely anyone expected the Modern-Day Maharaja to win the WWE Championship. Moreover, Mahal hasn't been close to winning the WWE Title again, and whilst he has won the United States and 24/7 Championship, there's no Tag Team Championship to his name.

4 Mark Henry

Mark Henry World Heavyweight Champion Cropped

Mark Henry had a steady run with WWE, and the World's Strongest Man was a consistent performer within the company. Henry was a member of the Nation and he has been involved in some comedic skits. "Macho Man" Randy Savage is one of the greatest in-ring competitors of all time. Savage had a great run in WWE as both a babyface and a heel. Savage finally won the WWE Championship for the first time in the tournament final at WrestleMania 4, when he battled past Ted DiBiase.

Savage turned heel, and he had a year-long reign as WWE Champion until he dropped the title to Hulk Hogan. Macho Man won the WWE Title again by beating Ric Flair at WrestleMania 8. However, when the Mega Powers were a tag team, they never won the WWE Tag Team Championship. Savage didn't win Tag Team Championship gold during his days in WCW either.

2 Alberto Del Rio

Alberto Del Rio World Heavyweight Champion Cropped

Controversy surrounds Alberto Del Rio but his in-ring WWE career was nothing short of extraordinary. The Mexican Aristocrat achieved a lot in WWE. He became the first man to win the Royal Rumble match and the Money in the Bank ladder match in the same calendar year in 2011.
