At times, moments at the show have left fans absolutely speechless. Now, to say that fans have been left speechless can both be a good and bad thing, as often it means that they are so shocked that they don’t know what to say. There have been examples of positives and negatives of this over the years at WrestleMania, and this will take a look at just a very small handful of them.

10 Bret Hart And Steve Austin Double Turn

Bret Hart v Stone Cold WrestleMania 13 Cropped

At WrestleMania 13, Bret Hart and Steve Austin had one of the greatest matches of all time in this brutal submission match. During the match, a violent and aggressive Hart displayed heel traits, whereas Austin showcased a valiant babyface mentality.

WWE masterfully pulled off a turn both during the match and in the aftermath. It was staggering to see Hart become a bad guy and Austin become good in a matter of half an hour, and it left fans shocked at what they were seeing.

9 Alexa Bliss Turning Against Bray Wyatt

Randy Orton Vs. The Fiend – WrestleMania 37

This was a case of a speechless crowd not being a good thing. At WrestleMania 37, Alexa Bliss distracted her ally, Bray Wyatt, causing him to lose his match against Randy Orton.

The scene of Bliss drenched in a weird black liquid and staring down Wyatt was odd indeed. Even stranger was the fact that Wyatt simply just disappeared, offering no explanation or big post-match angle, leaving fans absolutely perplexed at what they just saw. This made no sense, and it was so absurd that fans were left speechless.

8 Triple H Wins The WrestleMania 16 Main Event

Triple H & Stephanie McMahon WrestleMania 16 Cropped

For 16 years, the WrestleMania main event saw a babyface winning the match and sending the crowd home happy. At WrestleMania 16, WWE disrupted the formula and had Triple H successfully defend his WWE Championship despite being a heel.

This was unprecedented, and seeing Triple H leave with the belt left fans baffled and deflated. Sure, The Rock did dish out Rock Bottoms on the McMahon Family after the match, but it wasn’t enough to distract fans of the result that left them speechless just minutes before.

7 Fandango Upsets Chris Jericho

The unknown Fandango entered the spotlight at WrestleMania 29 as he wrestled his first match under the gimmick against Chris Jericho, in what is one of the most surprisingly high profile debuts in recent memory.

Even though WWE were clearly high on Fandango as his first match came on the biggest possible stage, it was still absolutely shocking to see him defeat former multi-time world champion Chris Jericho, producing one of the biggest upsets of all time. Fans were gobsmacked by the result.

6 Asuka Tapping Out To Charlotte Flair

Charlotte v Asuka WrestleMania 34 Cropped

Asuka entered WrestleMania 34 with an undefeated streak that stretched over two years, with the expectation being that she would continue this and defeat Charlotte Flair to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

It left fans speechless to not only see Asuka lose a match in WWE for the first time ever, but to also lose by submission, tapping out to Flair. Fans were left open-mouthed by this result, and for good reason. It wasn’t as though it had been a particularly grueling match for Asuka to submit, so it felt like a big misjudgment from WWE.

5 Firefly Funhouse Match

John Cena Bray Wyatt

At WrestleMania 36, John Cena and Bray Wyatt had a cinematic Firefly Funhouse match, and it was an absolute fever dream. Although there were no fans in attendance, the online reaction was one in which people were completely taken aback and shocked by what they just saw.

Cena entered some sort of different world that was interpreted by some to be inside his own head, and had to battle with his demons in a match which explored his whole career. It was a bizarre experiment from WWE, but it arguably paid off as many people enjoyed it.

4 The Undertaker And Big Boss Man Inside Hell In A Cell

Undertaker v Big Boss Man WrestleMania 15 Cropped

The Undertaker and the Big Boss Man clashed inside a Hell in a Cell match at WrestleMania 15, though it wasn’t anything special by any means. However, after the match, one of the most absurd things in WWE history occurred.

Boss Man was hung from the Cell roof by a rope, and was then lifted into the air along with the Cell structure. It was an alarming scene that left fans speechless, but not for a good reason. It was a truly terrible angle.

3 Sheamus Beating Daniel Bryan In 18 Seconds

Sheamus Daniel Bryan WrestleMania 28

Fans were looking forward to the World Heavyweight Championship match between Sheamus and Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 28, and it felt like a treat to see that the match was set to open the show.

However, the stadium was left stunned when Sheamus hit a Brogue Kick and pinned Bryan in just 18 seconds, winning the match instantly. It is among the most shocking results in WrestleMania history, and it made everyone speechless.

2 Steve Austin Makes A Deal With Vince McMahon

Steve Austin & Vince McMahon WrestleMania 17

The Attitude Era brought about the hottest WWE crowds ever. However, even they were left more silent due to shock in the conclusion of WrestleMania 17, as the number one babyface, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, turned heel and aligned with his arch nemesis, Mr. McMahon.

1 Brock Lesnar Breaking The Undertaker’s Streak

The Undertaker after his streak ended

There may never be a more speechless crowd than the one at WrestleMania 30. Brock Lesnar did the unthinkable when he ended The Undertaker’s undefeated streak, and you could hear a pin drop after the three count and bell.

It was outright horror and disbelief from the audience, who sat wide-eyed and open-mouthed for many minutes after the match had finished.
