Big E cashed in his Money In the Bank contract and defeated Bobby Lashley to become WWE Champion for the first time in his career, making the moment fans have been waiting for a reality. Big E ended Lashley's dominance and has just started a new era, where he could become WWE's top babyface and change his career completely.

He will receive new challengers, which he will surely face with positivity, but which wrestlers should step up against Big E? Here are five wrestlers who should challenge Big E for the WWE Championship and five who should not.

10 Should: Bobby Lashley

Bobby-Lashley-1

The first choice is clear: Bobby Lashley. WWE is used to booking rematches, and in this case, it would make a lot of sense because of the way things happened. Obviously, Lashley is going to object that he wasn't in condition to defend the title and he'll ask for a rematch as soon as possible, most likely for the next pay-per-view, Extreme Rules 2021.

With that said, it would be interesting to see Big E defend his new title against Bobby Lashley, and it's impossible not to think about an Extreme Rules match, in which these two could bring a lot of action and excitement.

9 Shouldn’t: Apollo Crews

Apollo Crews

Truth be told, the feud between Big E and Apollo Crews for the Intercontinental Title was lackluster. Certainly, they had the potential to do better, but WWE's booking didn't help, to say the least.

It's not out of the question for Apollo to come in and challenge Big E, but if it didn't work recently, there's no reason to try again. Besides, Apollo has yet to prove himself at a world title level, so this is an opponent Big E should avoid.

8 Should: Randy Orton

Randy-Orton-1

Randy Orton has fought toe-to-toe with the most recent WWE champions, Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley, which leads us to believe that Orton is a direct rival for Big E. Randy never disappoints and he's still one of the best wrestlers out there, so it would be great to see him wrestle Big E.

The Viper is not satisfied with his 14 world title reigns and maybe he will stalk Big E, to get one step closer to Ric Flair and John Cena's record. A program between Orton and Big E would be ideal.

7 Shouldn’t: Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins at SummerSlam 2021

Seth Rollins is another wrestler who could challenge Big E, especially since it would be a perfect heel versus babyface program. However, Rollins has mentioned several times that his desire is to get the Universal Title, and WWE most likely has future plans for a feud between Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins, which would be awesome.

Interestingly, Big E and Seth Rollins have been facing each other recently on house shows, but this shouldn't mean anything.

6 Should: Karrion Kross

Karrion Kross

When he was in NXT, Karrion Kross showed his true potential, being a monster who just wants to destroy his opponents. Now that Kross is on the main roster, fans want to see more of the same, and he has easily defeated Jeff Hardy, Ricochet, Humberto Carrillo and John Morrison. However, some are starting to think that Kross is being buried and that his talent will remain on the midcard.

This is a great opportunity to introduce Karrion Kross to the title scene. Plus, it's a great opportunity for Big E to show what he's capable of.

5 Shouldn’t: Kofi Kingston

Kofi Kingston

It wouldn't be the first time WWE books a feud between friends that one way or another ends with a split. Certainly, that formula has worked out several times, but does anyone really want animosity between Kofi Kingston and Big E?

Kofi Kingston and Big E, along with Xavier Woods, have been through a lot together and have given fans hilarious and unforgettable moments. So, let's hope the company doesn't come up with the idea of a match between E and Kingston.

4 Should: Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens had an excellent rivalry with Roman Reigns, in which they delivered outstanding matches. But since then, Owens has been underutilized, having feuds against Sami Zayn, Apollo Crews and Baron Corbin. Admittedly, KO deserves better, and a WWE title shot against Big E would fix that.

A babyface versus babyface match would be very interesting, but if that's not appealing enough, then Owens could turn heel, a role he has played very well throughout his career. Owens' future is unknown, but a feud like this could be a determining factor.

3 Shouldn’t: Goldberg

Goldberg at SummerSlam

It would certainly be cool if Big E faces the legendary Goldberg, and it would be even cooler if E joins the list of wrestlers who have managed to defeat Goldberg.

This scenario is not totally out of the question, as we know Goldberg will wrestle at Crown Jewel, but Goldberg will most likely face Bobby Lashley, after what happened at SummerSlam 2021. Also, Goldberg would have to win, and if that win is against Big E, the fans would hate it.

2 Should: Drew McIntyre

Drew-McIntyre-2

Last year Drew McIntyre proved that he is a top superstar, carrying Monday Night Raw and being the face of the company alongside Roman Reigns. This year, though, Drew hasn't stood out as much, but it's not too late for him to get back on top.

Recently it has been rumored that McIntyre could turn heel, which would be perfect to face Big E, but WWE needs babyfaces, so a match between two good guys wouldn't be bad either.

1 Shouldn’t: Sheamus

Sheamus

Sheamus is in the midst of a rivalry against Damien Priest for the United States Title, but everyone knows Sheamus has everything it takes to compete for the WWE Title and it wouldn't be far-fetched to see him challenge Big E.

However, it's preferable to keep things fresh. Big E already defeated Sheamus at Payback 2020, and frankly it was a disappointing match. So, no matter how good of a wrestler Sheamus is, he shouldn't challenge Big E.
