Becky Lynch last appeared on WWE programming 15 months ago, but it sounds like she'll be back in the not-too-distant future.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com, Lynch doesn't appear to be part of the plans for SummerSlam. The pay-per-view will be held on Aug. 21 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. It sounds like the former Raw Women's Champion will actually return to the company at some point this fall.

"The word going around at WWE's TV tapings over the last week was that she would be returning to TV this fall, with October openly discussed," Johnson wrote.

WWE returned to touring and performing in front of live crowds on July 16. They have brought back a pair of part-timers and legends in John Cena and Goldberg. The former will challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at SummerSlam, while Goldberg is expected to challenge WWE Champion Bobby Lashley.

Cena and Goldberg may be back, but fans continue to await the highly-anticipated returns of both Lynch and Brock Lesnar — who hasn't appeared on WWE programming since WrestleMania 36.

Lynch's last WWE match took place on day one of WrestleMania 36, where she successfully defended the Raw Women's Championship against Shayna Baszler.

On the May 11 episode of Monday Night Raw, Lynch announced she was pregnant and handed the Raw Women's Championship over to Asuka, who won the women's Money in the Bank ladder match.

Lynch has remained on maternity leave ever since. She and Seth Rollins (who got married in June) had their first child together in December. Lynch teased an surprise appearance at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view on July 18, but that obviously never transpired.

The WWE Draft Would Be Good Time & Place

The 2021 WWE draft is reportedly scheduled to take place in early October. That would be an opportune time to bring back Lynch. She last competed on the Raw roster, but perhaps WWE officials and creative would prefer to move her over to SmackDown — which has drawn better television ratings in recent months. We'll just have to wait and see how Lynch's WWE return plays out, but it doesn't appear to be far off now.
