Kelly Kelly began her journey as a professional wrestler back in 2006 when she signed for WWE. With no prior wrestling experience and being a former bikini model, she was certainly hired for her look. However, the blonde bombshell ended up having a WWE career of nearly seven years, as she wrestled in the Ruthless Aggression Era as well as the PG Era.

Since Kelly Kelly signed for the company when she was only 19, she left the company in her mid-20s. She won the Divas Championship once in her career. But there were a few things about her career that are hard to explain.

10 The Ring Name

Kelly Kelly's original name is Barbara Blank. But after making her wrestling debut, she adopted the ring name Kelly Kelly. When she showed up for the first time on ECW, her ring name was revealed.

However, Kelly Kelly wasn't the planned ring name for her. First, she was supposed to be just 'Kelly', but Vince McMahon decided to make her name lengthier by adding another Kelly, which hardly made sense. Kelly would have been a great stage name for her.

9 Became The First Woman 24/ 7 Champion

Although Kelly Kelly left the company in 2012, she kept making sporadic appearances on big nights. She made her presence felt on the 25th anniversary of RAW, WWE Evolution, Royal Rumble, as well as RAW Reunion.

On the episode of RAW Reunion, the former Divas Champion surprisingly won the 24/7 Championship backstage after pinning Gerald Brisco, becoming the first-ever female to win the title. Given there were already so many talented women on the WWE roster, especially in the mid-card, it didn't make sense to make a non-active past Superstar be the first-ever female 24/7 Champion.

8 The Early Main Roster Call Up

As it was mentioned above that Kelly Kelly didn't have a wrestling background. As a result, she had to start everything from scratch. But WWE wasn't patient enough, and she made her main roster debut within one month after signing, while she made her in-ring debut within three months.

After being drafted to SmackDown, Kelly Kelly was thrown into the World Heavyweight Championship storyline involving Edge, Dolph Ziggler, and Vickie Guerrero. Kelly Kelly helped Edge to retain the big gold belt against Dolph Ziggler at Royal Rumble 2011.

Being the interim general manager, Vickie Guerrero had the power, and she fired Kelly Kelly for apparently no reason. The decision wasn't decipherable, but she was brought back by Teddy Long later.

6 Was Released At The Age 25

As Kelly Kelly began her wrestling journey early in her career, she achieved a lot at an early age. With almost seven years of career to her name, she won the Divas Championship once, but injuries became a roadblock for her.

WWE released Kelly Kelly in 2012 when she was just 25-years-old. Yes, the injury might have prevented her from wrestling, but she still had much more to offer. Considering she was hired for her look in the first place, she could have been a good manager or valet.

5 Missed WrestleMania At Her Peak

2011 was arguably the best year in Kelly Kelly's WWE career because she not only showed good in-ring skills that year but also won the Divas Championship for the first and only time. But at her peak, the blonde Diva missed the biggest show of the year, WrestleMania 27.

As a matter of fact, except for LayCool, no other full-time women performers were on the card at WrestleMania 27. She, however, competed at WrestleMania 28 after teaming up with Maria Menounos.

4 The Failed History Of Capturing The Women's Title

Yes, Kelly Kelly won the Divas Championship once in 2011, but it was in the late stage of her career. Prior to getting her hands on the coveted female prize, Kelly Kelly challenged for the Women's Championship multiple times against different champions.

Her first-ever Women's Title shot was in late 2007 when she won a Battle Royal match to challenge then Women's Champion Beth Pheonix but failed to capture the belt. In the next three years, she regularly pursued the Divas Championship but wasn't successful until 2011.

3 The Miz Owned The Contracts Of Extreme Expose

After parting ways from Mike Knox, Kelly Kelly returned to ECW in 2007 as a single woman. When she joined hands with Layla and Brooke, Kelly's Expose became Extreme Expose.

Meanwhile, Extreme Expose members became valets of The Miz. During that time, Kelly Kelly started a romantic angle with Balls Mahoney. It was revealed that The Miz actually owned the contracts of Extreme Expose, including Kelly Kelly, which made zero sense. Using the power over Extreme Expose, he tried to block the romance between Kelly and Balls.

2 The Storyline With CM Punk In ECW

In the early days of Kelly Kelly's career, she was part of ECW. Her on-screen boyfriend was Mike Knox, who was envious and often prevented her from performing Kelly's Expose segments.

Due to Knox's jealousy, he started a feud with CM Punk. Although Kelly Kelly was already flirting with Punk, she took the side of the latter during their bouts instead of her boyfriend. Punk prevailed in all the matches of this rivalry, but Kelly Kelly going against her boyfriend while still being in a relationship didn't make much sense.

1 Continued To Wrestle In OVW After Being On The Main Roster

While Kelly Kelly had an early main roster call-up, she still continued to wrestle in OVW. Other than being a wrestler, she played the roles of referee and announcer in OVW while she was already in ECW. This move was certainly questionable for the young star.

Considering her lack of experience, it was probably done to develop her in OVW. However, if she wasn't ready, she shouldn't have debuted on ECW in the first place.
