Ex-WWE Superstar Mike Bennett (Mike Kanellis) has lashed out at his former boss Vince McMahon in the aftermath of WWE's recent layoffs.

On July 30, Bennett took to Twitter to share some personal stories regarding his struggles with addiction. Some of Bennetts's tweets were critical of WWE and the way the company treats its wrestlers. Many WWE fans took issue with Bennetts comments and the Ring Of Honor star was forced to defend them. In doing so, Bennett shared more thoughts on WWE and the company's CEO Vince McMahon.

"Here’s the last thing I’ll say," Bennet began a tweet thread. "Watch all wrestling (especially [Ring Of Honor]). Enjoy what you enjoy. I watch everything. I find plenty enjoyable at WWE. Some of my best friends still work there," he continued.

"However to deny that Vince is a greedy evil man, is to live in denial. You can enjoy the WWE product and realize that Vince has become bad for wrestling. The fish rots at the head and for the past 40 years Vince has been at the top."

Bennet then alleged that the way WWE operates is unethical and claimed that the company is so focused on keeping its shareholders happy that it puts the livelihood of its employees in jeopardy.

"[Vince McMahon]  fired mass amounts of people during the worst health crisis in 100 years. All to save a few million dollars, when his company was set to make record profits," Bennett pointed out. "Many people with families and children lost their jobs that day, so Vince could become slightly more rich. To deny this fact is to live in delusion. He’s destroyed more lives than he’s helped."

Bennett and his real-life wife Maria Kanellis were released by WWE back in April of 2020 along with several other superstars as a cost-cutting measure implemented by the company due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Mike requested his release from the company back in October, but WWE refused to grant it at the time. This came several months after he and Maria signed new multi-year contracts. He became a full-time member of Ring Of Honor's roster in September of 2020.

Since his June 30 Twitter thread, Bennett has continued to share his thoughts on the current state of WWE and the way the company treats its independent contractors.
