It hasn't been confirmed yet, but it sounds like former WWE Champion CM Punk is headed to AEW.

Last week, multiple reports stated that CM Punk has essentially agreed to a deal with AEW. The company is reportedly signing Daniel Bryan as well, and interestingly, the addition of CM Punk apparently caused AEW to change up their plans for the former.

It's been seven and a half years since CM Punk last worked for WWE. At this point, the WWE Universe will have to accept that a reunion with the two-time Money in the Bank Winner is extremely unlikely. Apparently, WWE isn't even interested in working with him.

Ringside News was told from a source that "WWE has no interest in CM Punk and even less for Phil Brooks as a human being." They also received a comment "Let him be their headache."

This is interesting because both Triple H and Stephanie McMahon sounded keen on the idea of working with CM Punk again. The Game revealed that he recently had communication with Punk, and he suggested that the latter just had to make a call in order to discuss a potential reunion.

Back in December 2019, Stephanie said there was interest in working again with Punk and his wife, AJ Lee. Stephanie said she would "love to see AJ Lee back in the women’s division."

But apparently, WWE wasn't all that excited about the possibility of working with CM Punk again. Countless WWE fans held out hope for a return, but it looks like his next wrestling chapter is going to take place with AEW.

A Massive Win For AEW

CM Punk was a marquee draw in the WWE. His apparent arrival in AEW will be all the more enticing given his lengthy hiatus from professional wrestling. AEW has a long way to go in competing with WWE, but adding a wrestler like CM Punk will certainly close the gap in short time. Assuming CM Punk is indeed All Elite, it's safe to say that the wrestling landscape is about to change for the better.
