Bray Wyatt was surprisingly released from WWE on Saturday, July 31, 2021. Fans and talent alike were in disbelief considering Wyatt's The Fiend character was touted to return imminently. Nevertheless, Wyatt's character has undergone several drastic changes but when it seemed that WWE would pull the trigger on Wyatt, they made some questionable booking decisions with some odd losses.

Despite all of the adversity Wyatt faced throughout his WWE career, he certainly had a good run. There's no doubt that Wyatt could have achieved a lot more during his time in WWE with just one short WWE Title reign, and two Universal Championship runs along with a couple of Tag Team Title runs. Nonetheless, Wyatt collided with some of the all-time greats in the ring and he certainly held his own.

10 The Fiend Vs. Goldberg - Super ShowDown 2020

The Fiend v Goldberg Super ShowDown 2020

The Fiend finally had some momentum during his first Universal Championship reign. That was until he defended the gold against Goldberg in a lackluster main event at Super ShowDown 2020, which was the final pay-per-view that WWE had fans in attendance before the coronavirus pandemic struck.

This was no doubt the biggest match in The Fiend's title reign and Goldberg made his intent known very quickly. He nailed The Fiend with four Spears which was not enough to keep him down. Ultimately, a poor Jackhammer from Goldberg saw him become a two-time Universal Champion which made no sense whatsoever.

9 Bray Wyatt Vs. The Miz - TLC 2019

Wyatt v The Miz TLC 2019

There was another layer to Bray Wyatt's character and at TLC 2019 he battled with The Miz in his Firefly Funhouse attire. Wyatt was the reigning Universal Champion but it was a non-title match which was strange. Nonetheless, The Miz dominated the majority of the match with Wyatt not responding to the offense that Miz had.

The action improved slightly once they fought on the outside and Wyatt planted Miz with a devastating Sister Abigail on the floor. A second Sister Abigail in the ring was enough to see Wyatt victorious but he was assaulted after the match by a returning Daniel Bryan, who cemented his face turn.

8 Bray Wyatt Vs. Braun Strowman - The Horror Show At Extreme Rules 2020

Wyatt v Strowman Extreme Rules 2020

With the coronavirus pandemic forcing WWE to try their hands at the cards they were dealt, cinematic matches were welcomed in 2020. However, the one between Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman in a Wyatt Swamp Fight at The Horror Show at Extreme Rules completely missed the mark in the main event.

There was barely any wrestling which spoiled the quality of the match. It was pretty much a visit down memory lane with various cut-scenes showing Wyatt and Strowman at different points of their careers. They battled around the swamp and took their fight to the water where the match ended.

7 The Fiend Vs. Randy Orton - WrestleMania 37

The Fiend Randy Orton WrestleMania 37

For the second time in five years, The Fiend and Randy Orton engaged in battle at WrestleMania. They opened up night two of WrestleMania 37 and this match had tons of potential to be something special. Sadly, it failed to live up to the expectations in Wyatt's final match in a WWE ring.

They went back and forth early on, and The Viper was going for his patented RKO but The Fiend countered it and cinched in the Mandible Claw. The Fiend was proceeding to finish off the job with Sister Abigail but Alexa Bliss emerged from the black box at ringside, oozed with black liquid coming out of her face. Orton took advantage and scored another win over Wyatt at WrestleMania, which was ironically his first 'Mania win since he beat Wyatt for the WWE Title at WrestleMania 33.

6 Bray Wyatt Vs. Braun Strowman - Money In The Bank 2020

Wyatt v Strowman MITB 2020

Braun Strowman's first significant Universal Title defense pitted him against Bray Wyatt at Money in the Bank 2020. Wyatt was donning his Firefly Funhouse clothes so it was interesting to see how this titular bout would play out.

Strowman wasn't ready to relinquish his title as he kicked out of Wyatt's Sister Abigail finishing maneuver. Nonetheless, Strowman put on his old mask from The Wyatt Family days but he rejected Wyatt's advances for a reunion as he laid him out with a Running Powerslam to retain the Universal Championship in a hard-hitting contest.

5 The Fiend Vs. Braun Strowman - SummerSlam 2020

Strowman v Wyatt SummerSlam 2020

Once again, Bray Wyatt had a chance to unseat Braun Strowman for the Universal Championship but this time he was in The Fiend gimmick at SummerSlam 2020. They clashed in a Falls Count Anywhere match which suited The Fiend in this type of match.

The match was extremely underwhelming with both The Fiend and Strowman capable of putting on much better. Nonetheless, The Fiend returned to the summit as he recaptured the Universal Championship in the main event. Roman Reigns made his triumphant return after a five-month absence and he laid both men out before the show ended.

4 The Fiend Vs. John Cena - WrestleMania 36

Fiend v Cena WM 36

The Fiend lost to John Cena at WrestleMania XXX, and they had a must-see rematch on night two of WrestleMania 36 in a Firefly Funhouse match. It was certainly unique as there was barely any wrestling in this cinematic match. The way it played out was spectacular as it was virtually a highlight reel of Cena's career.

Cena's old Prototype and Dr. Thuganomics gimmicks made an appearance that took fans back down memory lane. Nonetheless, the match was tons of fun and The Fiend earned one of the biggest wins of his career by taking Big Match John down.

3 The Fiend Vs. Braun Strowman Vs. Roman Reigns - Payback 2020

Fiend v Strowman v Reigns Payback 2020

It was unprecedented for WWE to stage a pay-per-view a week after SummerSlam. The Fiend's newly won Universal Championship was up for grabs against Braun Strowman and Roman Reigns at Payback 2020.

Again it was another slugfest between The Fiend and Strowman as Reigns did not make his presence felt until the latter stages of the match. The Big Dog barely worked up a sweat as he viciously Speared Strowman to regain the Universal Title.

2 The Fiend Vs. Randy Orton - TLC 2020

Orton v Fiend TLC 2020

The Fiend and Randy Orton collided in a Firefly Inferno match in the final WWE pay-per-view of 2020 at TLC. This was structured together perfectly which is why the match flowed remarkably well.

They shouldn't have main evented the show but they told an excellent story. The match went back and forth with Orton doing everything in his power to not let The Fiend have a stranglehold on proceedings. Ultimately, The Viper set The Fiend on fire to pick up a superb win.

1 The Fiend Vs. Daniel Bryan - Royal Rumble 2020

Fiend v Bryan Royal Rumble 2020

There was no doubt that Bray Wyatt's best match in The Fiend iteration of his gimmick was when he put the Universal Championship on the line against Daniel Bryan in a strap match at the 2020 Royal Rumble. Their match at Royal Rumble 2014 was an instant classic, and six years later, they hit a home run once more.

Both hit each other relentlessly with the strap and The Fiend dominated the started of the match. Credit has to be given to Bryan who was at his absolute best, and he made The Fiend look beatable by pushing to the brink. Ultimately, The Fiend continued to build on his momentum as Universal Champion.
