Romance angles have become a huge part of WWE storytelling. Throughout the years, fans have watched as love blossoms between two wrestlers and they form an on-screen relationship. Triple H and Stephanie McMahon along with AJ Lee and Daniel Bryan are a few famous on-screen couples created by WWE.

As with wrestling, many storylines, including romance angles can be dropped unexpectedly. There's been plenty of on-screen relationships that fans loved, yet just as the duo grew in popularity, WWE put an end to them.

10 Summer Rae & Tyler Breeze

During her WWE career, Summer Rae was involved in a few romance storylines. In the fall of 2015 after being spurned by Dolph Ziggler, Rae found herself with a new man. Summer became the love interest and manager of Tyler Breeze, who had just debuted on the main roster.

Breeze and Rae had remarkable chemistry and were a hit with fans. That's why it came as a shock when the pair announced their break up in December 2015. The two ended their relationship on good terms and shared one last selfie together before going their separate ways.

9 Seth Rollins & Paige

Many romance storylines are over before they even begin. That was the case with Seth Rollins and Paige during their time in FCW. In February 2012, a story began with Paige showing up wherever Rollins was. In one scene, Paige approaches Seth while he's sitting in an empty ring and shows him something on a laptop. The next week she was spotted up in a balcony, watching Rollins during a match.

Although the two appeared infatuated with each other, nothing more came of this storyline. Yet, fans can't help but wonder what Seth and Paige's on-screen romance would've looked like.

8 Layla El & Fandango

When Fandango danced his way onto the main roster, he always had a gorgeous lady by his side. His first dancing partner was Summer Rae, who he dumped for Layla. Fandango and the former Divas Champion had amazing chemistry. WWE noticed it too and started a romance storyline with the two.

Things heated up when a jealous Summer Rae began interfering in their relationship. This escalated into a feud between the two women over Fandango's affections. However, the storyline took an unexpected turn when the ladies decided to team up and wreak havoc on Fandango, thus ending their relationships with the dancing wrestler.

7 Tori & X-Pac

Tori is considered one of the underrated female wrestlers of the Attitude Era. During her three years with WWE, she was featured in many big storylines. In February 2000, she was in an on-screen romance with Kane, but she soon dumped him for X-Pac. Tori unleashed her inner bad girl when she was with the DX member.

The two along with the rest of D-Generation X ran rampant over the rest of the WWE roster. Tori and X-Pac's relationship lasted about four months until an injury sidelined Tori for the rest of the year. Upon her return, her and X-Pac's romance was over, and shortly afterward Tori would be released by the company.

6 Zack Ryder & Eve Torres

Zack Ryder was everyone's favorite lovable loser. Yet, after gaining popularity, things started to look up for Ryder. His string of good luck also consisted of an on-screen romance with Eve. Zack and the former Divas Champion began their relationship in January 2012. With Eve being one of WWE's top female wrestlers, she and Zack's romance became a hit with fans.

Yet, sadly things didn't go too well for the couple. Weeks later Eve shared a kiss with Ryder's best friend John Cena after he rescued her from Kane. The moment of passion was witnessed by a heartbroken Zack. Later Eve would turn heel when she revealed she wasn't in love with Ryder, she was using him for fame.

5 Santino Marella & Tamina Snuka

Santino Marella had a thing for tall, attractive women. His most memorable relationship came with Beth Phoenix. Dubbed Glamarella, the two became popular with their comedic, opposites attract nature. After his romance with Phoenix came to an end, Marella found himself falling for another female wrestler.

After making her debut in 2010, Tamina Snuka began an on-screen relationship with Santino. It started out with flirting as Marella put the moves on the Samoan beauty. At first, she rejected him but eventually found herself falling for the Italian stud. Santino and Tamina had the makings of being Glamarella 2.0, however, their partnership would be short-lived with Tamina being moved to SmackDown during the 2011 draft.

4 Trish Stratus & Jeff Hardy

Trish Stratus was featured in many romance storylines throughout her WWE career. But there's one romance, fans are gutted they never got to see play out. Between 2001 and 2003, WWE began toying with the idea of a Trish and Jeff Hardy on-screen relationship. Their first attempt at the pairing was interrupted when Trish suffered an injury that kept her off television.

In 2003, WWE once again tried the Trish and Jeff relationship. Interest in the romance began after Jeff came to Trish's rescue after a match. The two would then be seen in backstage segments flirting, and at one point shared a kiss. Unfortunately, the relationship would go no further because Hardy was released by WWE in the spring of 2003.

3 Stacy Keibler & Randy Orton

Stacy Keibler is no stranger when it comes to wrestling romances. She's had plenty of on-screen relationships in WCW and WWE. In early 2005, she was paired with her new love interest Randy Orton. The couple were two of WWE's babyfaces at the time and shared a few flirtatious backstage segments before starting their romance.

Keibler was a huge supporter of Orton when he began his feud with The Undertaker for WrestleMania 21. However, things took a shocking twist when Orton delivered an RKO on Keibler, thus ending their relationship and cementing his heel turn.

2 Stephanie McMahon & Test

When Stephanie McMahon first debuted, she was a good girl. In 1999, she began an on-screen relationship with Test, much to the dismay of her brother Shane. Stephanie and Test survived Shane's attempts to split them up, but they were no match for Triple H.

In one of WWE's most iconic moments, Stephanie and Test were set to wed on a November 1999 broadcast of RAW. However, their wedding was interrupted by Triple H, who informed Test that he and a passed-out Stephanie had married the night before. Eventually, Stephanie would dump Test and join forces with her new husband in what became known as the McMahon-Helmsley Era.

In 2011, AJ Lee had ended her on-screen relationship with Daniel Bryan and set her sights on a new man. That lucky guy happened to be CM Punk. Lee began flirting with Punk and even showed up at ringside to support him in his matches. At one point, AJ shared a kiss with Punk, which raised everyone's excitement level.

A love triangle, actually quadrangle began with Lee, Punk, Bryan, and Kane. Lee went back and forth over which man she liked but ultimately went with Bryan, who she later dumped. Although AJ and Punk didn't end up together on-screen, they became a couple in real life and married in June 2014.
