Michaels' bodyguard Diesel was alert as Perfect gained the upper hand in the match but he pushed him out of the ring and into the steel steps. It was a cheap victory for Michaels, who retained the title by count-out.

Therefore the match was restarted, and they put on a superb match which showed Vader's capability of being a big-time player in WWE. They collided in a brutal Unsanctioned match which was a war of attrition for close to half an hour.
