The ThunderDome era of WWE might not have been perfect due to the lack of fans in attendance, however, during this time the wrestlers all delivered. The talent put on some fantastic matches across this run both on PPV and television, which truly helped to make this era memorable.

From grudge feuds between Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton, or Bayley and Sasha Banks, to tremendous gimmick matches inside Hell in a Cell or TLC, there has been a great variety of content. Audiences have been left truly entertained at home, and in such a difficult period of time, the WWE Superstars truly stepped up to the plate.

When a Royal Rumble match is done right, it can be an unbelievable moment and that is exactly what this provided. From Edge's journey from start to finish to the amazing surprise appearances such as Christian's return to wrestling, the match had it all.

There were plenty of great performances within the match, with Damian Priest truly stepping up and proving himself. Everything about this contest was superb, proving just how great a Royal Rumble can be.

9 Dominik Mysterio vs. Seth Rollins (SummerSlam 2020)

Debuting in WWE is never an easy thing, but having your first ever match on a major PPV event, with no fans while being the son of Rey Mysterio takes it to another level. However, Dominik dealt with this situation brilliantly and he and Seth Rollins put together a superb match.

Seth did a brilliant job of guiding Dominik through this one, helping the pacing and timings. However, Dominik stepped up as well, showcasing all of his skills as Seth bumped like crazy for him to create a really competitive contest.

8 Sheamus vs. Drew McIntyre (Raw, 3/1/21)

Sheamus and Drew McIntyre have been two of the best performers during the ThunderDome era, with the Celtic Warrior, in particular, bringing some terrific matches. But this match on Raw truly was a sensational one that everybody should check out.

While they had a couple of stipulation matches after this point, this particular match was the strongest of the bunch. With over 20 minutes to tell their story, they were able to bring a truly physical fight that few matches can come close to competing with.

7 Roman Reigns vs. Jey Uso (Clash Of Champions)

This was a completely different type of match to anything else that happened in the ThunderDome era, and it proved to be brilliant. This one was all about story and emotion, with Jey fighting desperately against the odds.

Roman's trash-talking and slow, methodical beatdown helped to make this match so great. There was tons of heart in this match, and the fact it was such a fresh bout also helped to make it easy to connect with.

6 Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre (Survivor Series)

There might not have been much story here except brand supremacy, but with Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre, their confidence was what drove this. Each man had been booked heavily heading into this one, and it helped to make this tough to predict.

They both brought the fight in this one, which was really physical, and it ended up being very entertaining to watch. They had several near falls in this one as well, which only helped to make it even more enjoyable.

5 Drew McIntyre vs. Randy Orton (Clash Of Champions)

The storyline between Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton was a big part of the ThunderDome era. They had arguably one too many matches, but this ambulance match was fantastic, which told the story of their entire feud.

With the legends that Randy had wronged popping up to help, it really helped to draw the fans in from home. They made the most of the stipulation itself as well, bringing a brawl feel to this one which helped to make it so good.

4 Roman Reigns vs. Cesaro (WrestleMania Backlash)

Cesaro getting a big push into the main event scene is something fans wanted for a long time, and his Universal Championship match didn't disappoint. This was a terrific back and forth battle with fantastic psychology placed in.

Cesaro gave as good as he got in this one, bringing in some terrific reversals and fresh moves of his own. It was clear to see he was pulling out all the stops to make the most of the opportunity, and it paid off.

3 Sami Zayn vs. Jeff Hardy vs. AJ Styles (Clash Of Champions)

Ladder matches are always chaotic and fun, and when the right people are involved they can be unforgettable. With no fans in attendance to provide energy for them, these three men still put together a ridiculous amount of risky bumps to make this match work.

They clicked perfectly inside the ring and helped to make the Intercontinental Championship the focal point of everything. With a creative ending that saw a ladder hooked into Jeff Hardy's ear via some handcuffs, this match truly had it all, which helped make this one of the greatest.

2 Bayley vs. Sasha Banks (Hell In A Cell)

The storyline between Bayley and Sasha Banks is one of the greatest from the ThunderDome era, which will certainly go down in history. This particular match was the perfect example of how a Hell in a Cell stipulation can still work perfectly in the modern era.

The two women put together a brilliant clash that utilized the cell structure as well as the chair, which had been a big part of their story. But the real magic in this match was the way they called back to previous moments and matches throughout their history, meaning the more fans were invested, the more they were able to enjoy the bout.

1 Roman Reigns vs. Daniel Bryan (Fastlane)

This match brought two masterclass storytellers together and allowed them to put on a 30-minute clinic. With Roman Reigns dominating with his power, trash-talking his way through this match, with Daniel Bryan then being able to fight his way back.

He showed great confidence as well at points, having Roman's number from a technical standpoint, and they really managed to fit in a lot of near falls towards the end. With Edge adding to the story on the outside as a special enforcer, this was the best type of carnage.
