The WWE ThunderDome has been packed up for now, and while it didn't provide the perfect way to view professional wrestling, there's no doubt it was a step up from the alternatives. The screens brought some form of atmosphere and throughout its time in existence, it played host to some brilliant matches and moments.

Several PPVs ended up taking place using the state of the art technology, and while none of them provided the same atmosphere as a live WWE Universe, there were several great shows that happened with the concept. WWE PPVs have typically been solid throughout the pandemic era, being run tightly and with jam-packed cards which have created some fantastic PPVs.

11 Payback 2020

Randy Orton Vs. Keith Lee Payback

Payback was the weakest show of the ThunderDome era by quite some distance, mainly because it featured a lack of memorable matches. While the in-ring work was solid throughout the night, there was nothing out of the ordinary that left audiences with a reason to remember it.

The triple threat main event only featured three men late on, with Roman Reigns appearing at the last moment, while the rest of the card was quite forgettable. Randy Orton and Keith Lee had the potential to be something great, but sadly it was kept short and sweet.

10 Survivor Series 2020

Roman Reigns versus Drew McIntyre at Survivor Series

Survivor Series was a hit-and-miss show in the ThunderDome, which is largely down to WWE's lackluster booking for the event. The Raw vs. SmackDown story isn't one that fans care about, which hurt the majority of the matches on the card. Meanwhile, The Undertaker's goodbye segment didn't end up being quite as exciting as people hoped for.

However, this show had Sasha Banks and Asuka putting on an excellent encounter and the main event between Drew McIntyre and Roman Reigns provided a dream match between wrestlers at the top of their game which closed the show in style.

9 Elimination Chamber 2021

Hardy Chamber 2021

A show that featured two brilliant Elimination Chamber matches was always going to be fun to watch, which was the case here. The opening match was particularly great with Daniel Bryan picking up the victory.

While his subsequent Universal Championship match with Roman Reigns was brief, the rest of the show was fun. From Riddle winning his first title on the main roster to The Miz cashing in his Money in the Bank, it was a noteworthy event.

8 Hell In A Cell 2021

Bianca Belair Vs. Bayley Hell In A Cell 2021

The Hell in a Cell event this year was enjoyable to watch with Bianca Belair and Bayley kicking off the show with a really enjoyable match, while Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley finished in style with the second cell match of the night.

However, the rest of the card was brilliant as well, with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn putting on their usual high-quality performances, while Seth Rollins and Cesaro worked hard to try and steal the show.

7 WrestleMania Backlash

After a brief return to having fans with WrestleMania 37, the ThunderDome returned for WrestleMania Backlash, which was another great show. Seeing Cesaro in the main event against Roman Reigns was an amazing moment, and he more than stepped up to the plate.

As well as that, the show had Bianca Belair and Bayley having a great singles match, and the Mysterio's becoming Tag Team Champions. It was an exciting return to a great night of wrestling after the heights of the drama that WrestleMania provided, in a really good way.

6 Clash Of Champions 2020

Sami Zayn v Jeff Hardy v AJ Styles Clash of Champions 2020 Cropped

This PPV featured several amazing matches from the ThunderDome era, helping to make the show one for the ages. The triple threat ladder match featuring Sami Zayn, Jeff Hardy, and AJ Styles was unbelievable, which is arguably the strongest opener of this period.

Meanwhile, the main event between Roman Reigns and Jey Uso told a unique story all of its own. In the middle were several amazing title matches on a night where everything had stakes and felt important.

5 TLC 2020

Reigns v Owens TLC 2020

TLC matches are always quite exciting and, even without a live crowd, the two on this show delivered. Drew McIntyre, The Miz, and AJ Styles had a truly excellent encounter, while Roman Reigns battling Kevin Owens was equally as destructive and enjoyable.

The mid-card of the show was also impressive on this event, with Sasha Banks and Carmella really standing out. Plus, the main event truly got everyone talking, and while it wasn't a classic match between The Fiend and Randy Orton, the spectacle that closed the show was unforgettable, rounding it out in style.

4 Fastlane 2021

Drew McIntyre vs. Sheamus at Fastlane 2021

The first half of this show was actually quite forgettable, with a quick match between Braun Strowman and Elias as well as Big E and Apollo Crews not quite connecting. But thankfully, the main event matches really brought some world-class contests.

Drew McIntyre and Sheamus had an amazing no-holds-barred match which was as physical as you'll see in WWE. While the main event between Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan was a wrestling classic that will go down in history.

3 Hell In A Cell 2020

Bayley v Sasha Banks Hell in a Cell 2020

While the 2021 Hell in a Cell show was great, the 2020 event was even better. The match between Bayley and Sasha Banks is one that fans had really been excited about and they didn't let anybody down with what they delivered.

The show also had two other cell matches, with both the men's World Titles being defended and the fact WWE created three totally unique matches in one night with the same stipulation is something that deserves praise.

2 SummerSlam 2020

Roman Reigns At WWE SummerSlam 2020

This was the first show to take place inside the ThunderDome and the change really did help make this feel exciting. Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton had a solid match, meanwhile, the debut of Dominik Mysterio was amazing here, putting on a fantastic bout against Seth Rollins.

Every match on the PPV was entertaining which helped to make it feel important. However, the main event is what made the show really stand out as Roman Reigns made his return to the company after a break, which led to an amazing moment.

1 Royal Rumble 2021

Edge Royal Rumble 2021

Out of all the PPVs to take place inside the ThunderDome, the strongest was the Royal Rumble. While it was a shame not to have the fans there to pop for surprises like Carlito and Christian, the show was stacked and this truly felt like a major event.

WWE didn't let the situation stop them from putting on a mega show, which is what people expected. From two excellent Rumble matches to Roman Reigns battling Kevin Owens and an appearance from Goldberg, this show had a little something for everyone and truly was the closest thing to normal.
