Throughout its history, WWE has worked with celebrities from outside of the wrestling business in order to bring in as much attention as possible. WWE has created some epic storylines with the likes of Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather which have gone down in wrestling history as something significant.

However, at the same time, there have been some disastrously bad celebrity appearances in WWE. Some of them have seen the celebrities clearly put in no effort to understand the business or what they're getting involved in. Meanwhile, other segments have simply been far too random and weird to make any sense on the show.

10 Keith Colburn

Deadlist Catch at WrestleMania Cropped

Keith Colburn was a rather random celebrity for WWE to work with in the first place. However, the Deadliest Catch star appeared in a backstage segment at WrestleMania XXVIII with Mick Foley and Santino Marella.

The three of them sat backstage and ate crab's legs in what was a very strange segment that was an attempt at comedy. Ron Simmons turning up to yell his catchphrase was funny, but Colburn's moment was not.

9 Jeremy Piven & Ken Jeong

The Raw celebrity guest host era brought a lot of random celebrity segments and many of them were not good. One of the worst involved Jeremy Piven and Ken Jeong who clearly had no knowledge of wrestling at all.

Piven famously called SummerSlam the 'SummerFest' which was a huge slap in the face to the wrestlers. Meanwhile, Jeong was obnoxious and loud throughout the show, creating some very strange segments.

8 Jerry Springer

Jerry Springer on Monday Night Raw

Jerry Springer's first appearance on Raw was a painfully awkward one as he hosted a version of his show for the wrestling fans. It involved Kelly Kelly claiming she was pregnant, in what was a painfully bad segment.

In the end, Hornswoggle was announced as the father, as he was so often WWE's answer to random stories. However, the entire situation was cringeworthy and was a real sign of how WWE treated the women's division at the time.

7 Planet Of The Apes

This celebrity appearance was obviously not an actual celebrity but was instead wrestlers dressed up in costumes. However, they were portraying celebrities as characters from Planet Of The Apes.

However, it was a strange segment, with this taking place during Chris Jericho's feud with Stephanie McMahon. He sent the apes down with gifts for Stephanie in what ended up being something to be forgotten.

6 Jon Stewart Interference

Jon Stewart hits John Cena with a chair

Celebrities getting involved in wrestling matches is never something that people want to see, especially in a match as big as John Cena and Seth Rollins' at SummerSlam in 2015.

This match had the United States and WWE Championship on the line, so the fact that Jon Stewart's random appearance, hitting Cena with a chair was the finish left a lot of people disappointed and felt out of place.

5 Three Stooges

Sometimes WWE had its celebrity guest hosts do something relevant and entertaining. Other times, they booked situations like when the Three Stooges appeared and awkwardly mumbled through some 'comedy.'

One of them decided to dress up as an over the top version of Hulk Hogan, which was a disaster to look at and the entire situation just ended with Kane Chokeslamming them,

4 Kid Rock

WrestleMania 25 was a huge event for WWE and, as usual, live music was involved. This is always the case for WrestleMania shows, with a couple of artists normally popping up throughout the night.

However, on this show, WWE went to the extreme and put on a mini-Kid Rock concert that left everybody perplexed and bored. A song would have been fine, but instead, he played five which took up a huge chunk of time in a strange situation.

3 Rob Gronkowski

Rob Gronkowski has appeared for WWE on a few occasions, but none were weirder than when he was introduced as the host of WrestleMania 36. The awkward dance that he did down to the ring and the way he and Mojo Rawley just bullied Michael Cole was very strange.

None of it made any sense and didn't exactly make Gronkowski seem like somebody that everyone should like. Despite that, he was involved in both nights of WrestleMania which was equally as forgettable.

2 Grumpy Cat Hosts Raw

Another truly strange celebrity appearance WWE decided to book was when Grumpy Cat hosted Monday Night Raw. While the cat was a viral sensation at the time, it was not something that should have been involved with wrestling.

A cat that cannot talk or really add anything to the overall product, and that was the case when Grumpy Cat appeared. People just had awkward segments where they tried to make the best of the situation.

1 LaVar Ball

LaVar Ball on Raw

By far the weirdest celebrity appearance in WWE history is when LaVar Ball and his children appeared on Raw. They were involved in an installment of Miz TV which ended up being a car crash of a segment.

The Miz did his best to try and carry the segment, but it just made no sense. From LaVar Ball taking his shirt off randomly to LaMelo using a racial slur, it was a disaster for WWE.
